So nice how a #regulartuesday can turn into something special. So grateful for a lovely conversation with artist and @slu_contemporary gallery director Cristina Molina @cm0lina and her lovely daughter on the balancing act of art making and motherhood, the way artists can lift one another up into the nuts and bolts of showing in galleries and doing all the things to build a career, and some places that support women figurative painters like @thebennettprize . Enjoyed hearing about her history with @thefrontnola and meeting @jonathantraviesa and all the cool things they are doing at @campstreetstudios.

I loved learning more about everyone’s work last night during a virtual talk for “The Forest was Rebuilt with Scrap and Ply,” curated by @katie_hargrave_ & @meredithlauralynn, at the @wiregrassmuseum. The show features work by Margaret Curtis (@margarcur), Adda Farcus (@toubab_adda), Katie Kehoe (@kehoe_k), @cm0lina (Cristina Molina) & Jonathan Traviesa (@jonathantraviesa), and me.

The exhibition runs through June 27, so there are still a couple of weeks to catch it 💚

From the curatorial statement, the exhibition “brings together six artists based in the Southeast who explore beauty, awareness, grief, and resilience in response to intensifying natural disasters and environmental change. The exhibition takes its name from Margaret Curtis’s monumental painting, which presents a powerful vision of a present shaped by ecological disruption.”

Thank you to all our friends, family, collaborators, clients, and vendors who joined us for Denali’s 2nd Annual Crawfish Boil. 🦞

From the prep to the final peel (IYKYK) - it was an epic event.

We hope you all had as much fun as we did… we can’t wait to do it again next year!

Give some love in the comments for our fabulous crawfish cooks, @jonathantraviesa and @srdjan504! On the day we heard the words “that was the best crawfish I’ve ever tasted!” echo through Denali HQ more than once. Y’all rock. 🙌

The Forest was Rebuilt with Scrap and Ply brings together six artists based in the Southeast who explore beauty, awareness, grief, and resilience in response to intensifying natural disasters and environmental change. The exhibition takes its name from Margaret Curtis’s monumental painting, which presents a powerful vision of a present shaped by ecological disruption.

As rising sea levels, stronger storms, and extreme weather increasingly affect our region, these artists reflect on what it means to live, adapt, and rebuild within vulnerable landscapes.

Their works acknowledge both loss and possibility, recognizing that communities must develop thoughtful approaches to mitigation, repair, and long-term stewardship for the future.
