“You got Zucker doing what he does, proving that he is a key piece of the powerplay as net front.”

On our latest Sabres Semantics Postgame Show, Brandon Caputo and Jonathon Howe discussed what having veteran forward Jason Zucker back in the lineup does for the young core, along with his efficiency on the powerplay, and the energy he brings to Buffalo’s lineup; scoring in his season debut vs Philadelphia despite the 3-1 loss.

The 34-year-old had an offseason procedure for a sports hernia after a 24-goal and 45-point campaign for Buffalo last season, 10 of his goals being on the man-advantage as a valuable experienced piece for the young core to lean on.

He will start on the third line LW spot and on powerplay two as he gets acclimated back into the lineup, as Buffalo are now 10 games into the regular season.

Who are your favourite side projects? Lots of bands have other bands, because well sometimes you want to do something a little different. Maybe you have other friends you like jamming with. The more music the merrier as I found catching Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day’s side project Pinhead Gunpowder in Toronto last weekend. Who are your favourite side projects? Comment below and tune in this weekend - @jonathononair #sideproject #greenday #pinheadgunpowder #radio

For this weeks Friday 5, inspired by a recent round of thrift store shopping, I came up with a bucket list of Sabres Jerseys I would love to find out in the wild sometime. Some local, some childhood nostalgia, and one borderline pick. What jerseys do you watch for in vintage and thrift stores??? #sabrehood #letsgobuffalo #sabres #sabresjersey #thrifting

“It feels like he’s been in on so many goals this year already.”

On our latest Sabres Semantics Postgame Show, Brandon Caputo and Jonathon discussed the overtime winner and early season impact of defenceman Owen Power over the Buffalo Sabres 2-1 start to 2026-27.

Power is up to 5 points in 3 games and is hoping to shatter his previous career-high season point total, which was 40 back in 2024-25.

It’s a long NHL season & there is of course no reason to panic, even if the 6-3 decision was far from what Buffalo Sabres fans expected.

✍️ Jonathon Howe (@jonathononair) has more on a correctable opening game for this week’s Sabres Semantics Friday Five.

TACO - HTZ Houndz: Adoptable Dog of the Week!

You may remember JJ who we featured a little while ago, and now it’s her brother’s turn! Taco is the kind of pup who may not seem to have much going on upstairs, but he is taking to training quite well and is eager to learn. He walks well on his leash but is on the bigger side, still acting like a puppy at times. He is social with other dogs, and will do great with an active owner. Someone who is committed to continuing his training and helping him blossom into the best dog he can be outside the stress of the shelter. If you’d like to learn more about Taco, visit him at the @niagara_spca Niagara Falls location, or email behaviour@niagaraspca.com - @jonathononair #adoptdontshop #adoptabledogs #rescuedogsrock

Heading into 2026-27, one of the biggest questions for the Buffalo Sabres is replacing the 44 goals lost this offseason as the NHL’s fifth highest scoring team last season.

✍️ Jonathon Howe (@jonathononair) has more on how the Sabres can get there with players taking bigger roles by committee as defending Atlantic Division champions.

BULLET - HTZ HOUNDZ: Adoptable Dog of the Week

Bullet is proof that good things come in small packages! Despite his smaller stature, he lives up to the name as a speedster. At just over a year old, he will do best in a home without smaller kids that he might knock over in one of his sprints. Bullet is perfect for anyone who wants an athlete and cuddles in a four legged best friend.

Visit Bullet at the Niagara Falls Shelter for the @niagara_spca to get to know him and his unique character. - @jonathononair #adoptabledog #rescuedog #niagara
