✨ KORE ACADEMY EVALUATIONS ✨

Every year, each Kore level has evaluations: Kore Adult Beginner, Kore Jr. Crew, @itskorecrew , and our group, Kore Adult Advanced Crew!

We learn a piece, then perform it twice in groups of three for our judges. We score ourselves from 1–5 on cleanliness, strength & style, then our judges do the same and leave individual feedback. We take our sheets home and can bring their comments into future classes to keep learning and growing. 🥹

We’re so grateful to have such incredibly gifted dancers and teachers give us their time, attention, and care. It means so much to have people willing to pour their knowledge into us. 🫶🏾

Every Tuesday morning , I train under the guidance of world-renowned choreographer @alexander.chung and his company @koredanceacademy , and i get to do it with all these amazing dancers who are mostly 30+ years old😏 we are the @kore.adltkrew (whoot whoot 🙌🏾🙌🏾)Recently we took on the challenge of recreating @alexander.chung viral “NO ONE ELSE CHOREOGRAPHY” and all i can say is challenge accepted and executed 🤩‼️Bottom slide is the reference and top slide are the results. Super proud of all of us we all are growing so much in our own ways and this just shows the work we putting in…WE DID THAT glad i got to do it with yall…thanks sensei @alexander.chung @alexander.classes for all of your time you give us

Every Tuesday morning I get to train this iconic group of adults, and their level continues to blow my mind.

When they saw my original video they wanted to take on the challenge, so I taught them the combo and we had way too much fun recreating it.

I love this group so much they are absolute goals.

Their work ethic, attitude and love for dance constantly inspires me.

My emotional support dance human. It’s so fun getting to dance next to @jonesybearz. There’s something special about meeting someone you were destined to be friends with. Little fun fact, Amber and I grew up in neighboring cities, graduating high school the same year, and found out after we met at Millennium a few years ago. Sometimes you see something that gives you a bigger picture of what’s possible.

Seeing people still doing what they love with that much energy and presence was incredibly inspiring.

It made me think about my own future a little differently.

Now I’m curious about yours.

Talk about a GLOWUP from last year, I’m so proud of us. 🥹🫶🏼 (and yes, I’m still saying “us” - even though I’ll be MIA from Tuesdays for a bit, I’ll be back 🫂)

I just want to say thank you to @alexander.chung and @jasminemason_ for this space you create for us that allows us to express ourselves and be free its so fulfilling to be a part of something that incredible i look forward to my Tuesday training every week thanks for pushing us all and trusting us i really see my growth in myself and i couldn’t imagine training and performing with no other group than the AMAZING individuals that i have met on this journey that feels like a family i just want to continue to level up and continue to train and NEVER STOP DANCING i love the stage and clearly it loves me back😁 another performance in the books another high i dont want to come down thank you Alex again and everybody in @koredanceacademy Tuesdays adult intermediate training for welcoming with open arms and thank you for trusting me to lead the V🤪

I went to this same exact show last year and said ima be up there performing and BOOM look at me now a year later its such a full circle moment man it feels so good to be on stage and thats all i want to do the crowd went crazy for us IT GAVE me a rush it felt so good my adrenaline was high and i think i blacked out lol i had so much fun up on that stage and i cant wait to do it again‼️

The last time I danced on a stage was nearly 20 years ago. It’s been a journey the past half year finding love to dance with confidence again. Still working on it, but it gets better every day. Having a support system - fellow dancers, constructive instructors, friends cheering on - helps, but it’s also important to remind myself to just let go. Not overthinking and just have fun swaying my hips from side to side. We can be our own harshest critic to push ourselves to learn and grow, but we should also allow ourselves to enjoy and relish the process.

Thank you @tuffdub @yincatt @waynelee212 for coming to the show, thank you to all the friends who supported the livestream to watch even when you couldn’t be there in person.

Thank you @laurenmiyake @jocruzin (wish we performed together again!) and @jtangv for nudging and getting me off my ass to shake my ass with this group.

Thank you to @koredanceacademy and to our Adult Tuesday lil’ family for being the most bestestest people to share the stage again. Every one of you inspires me and I appreciate dancing in the same space with you.

Thank you @alexander.chung for providing the training, guidance, encouragement, and platform for this incredible opportunity.

It’s never too late to get back into something you’ve missed. Never too late to start something you’ve always wanted to do. You have to just go for it. Go for it and look back with fondness and self-love that you did.

My @koredanceacademy fam gets their own post this year. So; my mother came to the show 💕. It was her first time seeing me dance live since childhood. She watched the whole first half of the show growing more and more… confused 😅 at how exactly a dancer of my level would fit into the slate of extremely advanced, polished professional performances she was witnessing.

She sat, mouth agape “they’re all so GOOD!” And my mother is my biggest fan. But she’s not silly. She knew she was watching signed dancers. Tour dancers. Decades long professionals half my age! And then… out came Tuesday Adults. In our red and black fits, energy PEAK level. Ready to hold our own. And the rest was history.

Our dedication to ourselves, to each other, to @alexander.chung and to the HILA dancers that we share a stage with, is unmatched. What we may lack in technical ability we more than make up for in tenacity, insane commitment, and hearts full of gratitude and an unwavering love of DANCE.

Leaving, she just kept saying “I get it now. I get why you drive hours a week. Why you spend the money. Why you take the time despite the inconvenience. I see how much it gives to YOU. And wow. You guys looked GREAT. Get me that video so I can watch again and again and again.” ♥️
