Presenting for National Geographic Part 1!

Still cannot believe I got to be part of this. Earlier this year, I joined an incredible crew to investigate reports of giant mako sharks off the coast of Aotearoa for National Geographic.

A dream come true, with a bunch of legends 🦈

Interestingly even though Makos are classified as endangered by IUCN, in NZ they are classified as not endangered. But that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re safe. Our national assessment looks at a different geographic scale, and the status of the wider southwest Pacific population remains uncertain.

World’s Biggest Mako airs on Sky Open in NZ 7.30pm October 18th, and is streaming online now on Disney overseas.

From an idea while washing the dishes to a series on TVNZ - this is exactly why the Screen Accelerator Project exists.

It was brilliant to hear Tom Hutchison in conversation with Emmy Award-winning producer Jon Kroll about the journey of “Ready, Gamer Mum” - from early spark, to option, to production, to going to air.

Congratulations again to Tom and the team at South Pacific Pictures.

Watch #ReadyGamerMum on Thursday 14 May at 7.30pm on TVNZ 2 and TVNZ+.

With Jon Kroll, @Melissa Conway, @Sean O’Donnell.

Big thanks to our supporters:
@Wellington Regional Council, @WCC, @Screen Wellington and @Yoobee Creative College of Innovation.

I barely post to the grid these days unless it’s about oysters, Teddy, Finn, friends & family but I just wanted to take a moment to remember this time, the 3 days I spent in Aotearoa, early November 2024 at a pitching & producer workshop with the inimitable @jonfkroll where I met this queen @vanillaitsvanilla ❤️‍🔥
We have been quietly working our asses off on some projects and I won’t mention any of it until the time is right but just wanted to say how grateful I am for her and our relationship. As well as Jon’s mentorship to us both. No matter what comes next I feel it in my soul that we are going to kill it, in line with my motto for life ‘all ships rise with the tide’ is definitely the long game but the best game to stay true to your passions and what you believe in 🙏🏻 so thank you Vanilla, also to Jon for everything 💕💫 I couldn’t be more grateful, anxious or excited!
