Adam Bricker, ASC @realadambricker discusses his work on the fifth and final season of Hacks @hacks in the latest Clubhouse Conversations. Joined by interviewer Jon Joffin, ASC @jonjoffin , Bricker breaks down developing a “vintage-contemporary” look for Deborah Vance’s world against cooler, shadowed tones for Ava Daniels. He details workflow innovations enabling near-variable-ND control across 4-5 cameras mid-take, the sparing use of bespoke lenses with a rainbow flare for emotional emphasis, and shooting the show’s final scenes under tight conditions at the Louvre. Lensing an award-winning music video with only the VENICE Extension System Mini. Sit down with Jon Joffin, ASC, and cinematographer Mitchell Baxter as they share how they shot the ASC Award–nominated “False Prophet” by Pillars of a Twisted City. Captured entirely on the VENICE Extension System Mini (RIALTO Mini), they pushed limited resources, used only available light, and leveraged the small form factor plus VENICE 2 sensor to move fast and find frames. Rig: RIALTO Mini mounted on a DJI RS 4 Pro, tethered to the main body riding in a backpack for balance and freedom of movement. A single focus motor and compact E‑mount glass—Thypoch Simeras and ZEISS Nano Primes—kept the head ultra‑light, enabling quick lens swaps, low‑profile operation in tight spaces, and smooth transitions between handheld and gimbal moves. The streamlined footprint let the team stay close to the action and react instantly to changing light and compositions. Download free resources, tools, LUTs, and BTS via the link in our bio.
