Some days you wake up glowing… and some days you wake up with body aches, a stuffy nose, and feeling like absolute 💩.

The morning I was supposed to film this, I didn’t even want to get dressed. No makeup. No lights. No camera. Just tea and a blanket.

But I refused to cancel.

In media, I know what it takes to book crews, secure space, coordinate schedules. People move mountains behind the scenes. So I told myself — push through. Show up anyway.

And I’m SO glad I did.

It turned out to be one of my favorite interviews I’ve ever done. And that says a lot, because I get asked to do a lot of podcasts… and I turn most of them down. I’m very protective of my frequency and my energy. Plus, let’s be honest — I like being the one asking the questions. 🎙️

But this one? The questions were thoughtful. The convo was real. The energy was aligned. I left feeling grateful I didn’t let a rough morning rob me of a beautiful moment.

Go stream Tales of a Latina – Season 2 wherever you get your podcasts. Trust me, this one is special. Thank you @katherineknunez for having me ❤️

What started as a vision to pour into the next generation became a day filled with impact, healing, and opportunity. And just when the room thought the summit couldn’t go any deeper — it did.

In one of the summit’s most meaningful moments, TT Torrez announced the creation of the #GoGetHer Stokes Family Scholarship — a newly established $5,000 award gifted to Metropolitan College of New York to support a deserving young woman on her educational and leadership journey. 💛✨

“MCNY helped shape the foundation of who I am, and returning here to pour into the next generation is a full-circle honor. When you invest in a young woman, you don’t just change her life — you strengthen families, communities, and the future. That’s why the #GoGetHer Summit exists: to make sure opportunity and purpose meet the young women who are ready to lead.” — TT Torrez

“Purpose is at the heart of everything we do at MCNY, and the #GoGetHer Summit aligns beautifully with that mission. To see TT Torrez return as an alumna and invest directly into the next generation speaks to the power of community, education, and intention. We are honored to partner in this work that prepares young women to lead with confidence and purpose.” — Dr. Charles J. Gibbs, President of MCNY

This is what happens when community, intention, and opportunity come together. This is #GoGetHer. 💛

Yesterday’s #GoGetHer music & multimedia summit was nothing short of POWERFUL. My heart is still so full thinking about the energy, the sisterhood, and the purpose that filled that room.

To our volunteers -you moved with heart, grace, and intention. Every smile, every moment of support, every detail you handled helped make this experience unforgettable.

To our sponsors and partners — thank you for believing in this mission and investing in the next generation of women leaders. Your support turns vision into impact.

To every attendee, participant, speaker, and young woman who showed up — YOU are the reason we do this. Your presence, your voices, your courage, and your dreams are what fuel this movement.

Together, we’re building confidence. We’re building community. We’re building legacy. 💛

Thank you for helping make yesterday a day of purpose, possibility, and power.
The work continues… more pictures and content coming!
