Last weekend some friends came over. We turned the beds and planted for the fall crops, split wood for the cold months, and cooled off in the river when the sun got high. One of the last summer weekends.

At night we made stone soup over the fire, most of it grown right here, and danced in the dirt until the light went soft.

Somewhere between the shovel, the river, and the fire it landed clearly: this is how we are meant to live. Hands in the earth. Good food. Slow. Together.

Gracias a todos los que vinieron. La tierra se acuerda.

I don’t have words to explain teaching the other week @kripalucenter.

This first photo of Lorin was from last year and was also the last time I taught with him after 15 years—to a week ago— the first time teaching with @jordanrhythm. Our ever changing flower mandala seems to explain it best. 🩷

Honored to be carrying on this interpretation of the VBT and the path of the Radiance Sutras.

JETLAG-2026: WHAT WE CALL MEDITATION

A workshop by Jordan, educator, meditation teacher, yoga trainer, and Ayurvedic practitioner, approaches meditation not as rigid technique but as an instinctive, restorative practice shaped by everyday life.

Combining guided reflection, relaxation, breath awareness, and accessible contemplative methods, the session explores meditation as a personal and sustainable way of reconnecting with attention, pleasure, recovery, and emotional balance within the pressures of contemporary life.

Happy Thursday, my Beloved MJP community.

I know many of you are in those final few days of the school year. Maybe today is Field Day. Maybe you are finally outside breathing a little bit, celebrating your scholars, and doing all the beautiful end-of-year things that make the Michael J. Perkins community so special.

I wanted to share something with love, especially for those who were part of our time when ivy Child International partnered with us and did such incredible work with our scholars, staff, and families.

If you remember Mr. J, aka Mr. Jordan, Ivy Child International is hosting a special event at the Massachusetts State House on July 16th, and they are looking to connect with former Michael J. Perkins School students/scholars who may want to share their voices.

Whether you are currently connected to Perkins or have moved on to another school, Ivy Child would love to feature youth voices and possibly have young people lead or share about the power of what they experienced through Ivy Child International — similar to the work we were blessed to experience together at Perkins. If there are Perkins alumni who are not on this email but may be interested in reconnecting with Mr. Jay or participating in this experience, please share this email with them.

I am tagging Rose Pavlov, founder of Ivy Child International, and Mr. Jordan here. Please feel free to reach out to them directly with any questions about the event, details, or how students/scholars can be involved.

I just wanted to make sure this opportunity made its way back to the Perkins community.

Sending love, gratitude, and joy to all of you as you close out the year. Miss you Much!

If you know me you know I love an altar and having a little ceremony together. These are from a few offerings since last Summer:
Flowers, palo santo, candles, loved ones belongings, gifts from over the years, crystals, affirmation cards, mini Radiance Sutras last September... all placed lovingly and with intention. You'll see some more in the coming months starting this Sunday at @sanctuarywellnessstudio for Soul Stretch, a yoga + sound ceremony to seal up May and kick off the summer months...and I'm dreaming up something so golden for @cobykozlowski Blissed Out Weekend at @kripalucenter. Plus @_gabbijane_ and I are launching our Yoga Training Retreat so very soon in Nicaragua for Feb 2027 and just know the altars will be so vibrant 🌺 Looking forward to all the beauty and bliss this summer. I believe in the good things coming 🙌🏻

A facial can be so much more than skincare.

In this session, my intention was to deeply nourish the skin while helping the body drop into a state of relaxation. I used hydrating, restorative formulas paired with slow, intentional facial massage to support the skin barrier, soften tension, and calm the nervous system.

By the end of the treatment, my client told me he felt like he went into a deep trance, experiencing a full hour of relaxation through facial work alone.

This is what I love about holistic skincare: the skin is nourished, the mind quiets, and the whole body gets to receive. ✨

the ache in your heart is holy ❤️ spending the weekend with my teacher @cobykozlowski at @kripalucenter alongside @belovedbodyworkk and @jordanrhythm was so very powerful and beautiful. A heartfelt + brave reminder of the capacity to hold our bliss and our sorrow and to welcome it all. @lorinroche would have loved it.

Coby's book is now available for pre-order and I highly recommend it as a loving guidebook and resource for all. You can pre-order everywhere you buy books and it releases next month. I'll be sharing some of my favorite prompts and insights over the coming weeks 😘
