Foot stayed firmly on the gas this month 🏎️

Chain gangs, hill climbs, many K’s ridden at higher intensity than they should have been. Huge month for my riding as well as my mates - chasing @danpettitt_ round Tenby and watching him become an Ironman is up there with my more proud moments 🙌

Gunna be hard to top this one…

After a summer of some really, really long cycles, getting back into hill climbing has been fuckin fantastic

Not my strongest type of event by any means but I'll give anything a go, and its a laugh to get out there with a bunch of equally unsuited mates just to have a bash at it

Not sure I'll be able to make any more this season tbh, life is just so busy, but oh well. Maybe next year ill try it weighing 5kg less and see if I can get a bit nearer that podium 🫠

Big man vs Big Hill 🤡

First attempt at a proper hill climb event. Went out way too hard, not hard enough in the middle, but finished exactly how I’d wanted to, full gas with nothing left on the line.

Community around these events is unbelievable. People supporting each other and spectators cheering from the sidelines - closest I’ll get to a tour pro!

Smashed my 5 minute power PB and also my legs in the process. Will 100% be doing more of these! Shoutout to the boys for nailing their runs as well 🔥

@newburyvelo Walbury HC 1st junior 🥇 4:56.2
11th overall.
Well happy with the effort, surprised with sub 5 as never been up climb before and had been told it was a bit brutal.
Lovely brownie whilst waiting for the podium.
A top tier Wizzy boys certified day out
2 HC wins, now back down to early with first U23 CX races this weekend!!

I’ve ridden my bike a lot more than I should have recently…

Can’t help but say yes whenever a ‘ride tomorrow?’ message pops up, especially with turbo season rapidly approaching 💀

Another week putting myself in places I have no business being - this time watching the big man @camhubert.cc smash (himself) up the local hill climb, and the youngster @leo_rides_bikes_ take the Junior W on his debut 😤

Bit of this n that to end the week but boy do we love seeing the bros getting strong 🤝

Also if you’re reading this I held that track stand for approx 45 mins…

Very happy, bit of an ego boost but nice to be able to see progress in more than just a feeling!!

Bike looking 🔥 and very Yellow!!

Full gas, pain face 😬

Sweet treats to celebrate

Rollin, rollin, rollin along 🚲 🚲 🚲

The most needed refuel in Newbury. Esquires = 😋😋

When a sprinter goes up a hill... 👀 🥵

Filming, riding, repeating... 🔂 📸

Some well deserved beverages 🍻

Big day, and some required pints or lemonades for moi, to up the elapsed even more

A week of taking things back to basics.
Back out easy spinning this week tryna revive the legs after what was an arguably over excessive month 😂

2 x 200+km events in 4 weeks deserves a pint or two.

Now the build continues 🙌 phase two of training kicks off very soon.

Gotta shift gears from being able to go for a long time, to being fast 🔥

Big end to a big week of riding!

@jorgeridez said he wanted to hit some hills so I reluctantly said yes to joining 💀 turns out the recent bike volume has absolutely paid off and efforts that previously would have put me well and truly in the bin actually now felt manageable!

Still obviously a tough day and climbing is still not my specialty but in comparison to where I was last year, the difference is night and day 🙌 legs felt strong, power numbers were good and honestly I enjoyed it!

We’re now under 2 months away from likely the biggest day on the bike I’ll ever have and the fitness is trending up 🤝 hopefully I’ll be ready when the time comes 😂

Pushing out of my comfort zone 💀

With the travelling done now I thought I’d take a bit of time away from posting to let the past couple weeks sink in. The trips to Sierra Nevada and Bassano have done an absolutely crazy amount for the legs and im now feeling stronger on the bike than ever!

So strong in fact I decided to finally get down to some local cycling bits I’ve been putting off for a long time (mainly out of fear) 💀

Joining my local cycling club out for their Tuesday Chain Gang + joining another local club for their TT series! These are two fundamental parts to grass routes cycling and im so glad I decided to get involved this week! Honestly no where near as scary as I thought they’d be and enjoyed it WAY more than I thought I would 🙌

The people I’ve met doing this sport have been so encouraging and I wanna say a huge shoutout to them for pushing me to give these a go! After all what’s the point building good legs over the winter if you don’t give yourself a chance to stretch em out come spring! 🔥

Stay tuned for more ‘out of depth’ activities soon!

More from this weekends long spin ❤️

Taken this week as a deload while I’m between blocks. The new programme starts on Monday and I think it’s gunna build the intensity nicely - good thing really as the boys have gotten a bit too strong over the winter and it’s starting to rattle me 😂

Time to get some more miles in the legs and see if we can get the endurance up a bit! That might help with some exciting stuff I’ve got planned in March 👀 there’s gunna be no hiding from the climbs that’s for sure…

Warmer weather soon come 🙏
