For sale soon! This is a 1960s Lignatone (Czechoslovakian-made) 12-string guitar. It arrived here neglected but worthy — for an instrument made “on the other side of the iron curtain” it’s pretty hip — 00-ish size, ebony board and bridge, good looks, and a nice sound. The neck is ginormous and the board is flat, but that’s another matter! I gave it a neck reset and bridge reglue and @joseamirodriguez finished it up with a fret level/dress, replacement (same shape/cut) pickguard, new bone saddle, side dots, and setup work. It plays spot on — nice and easy. #lignatone #lignatoneguitar #lignatone12string #12string #12stringguitar #vintage12string #vintageguitar #czechguitar #czechoslovakiaguitar

Possibly for sale! This is a 2002 Tacoma Chief CKK9C model in solid koa throughout. It was made for steel strings but I’ve got it setup like a “hybrid” classical. This is because the neck (from the factory) was cut super-shallow and the original truss rod was not at all useful because of the way it had been installed. The body (while a bit “loved”) was in good order but the neck had to be fixed. It was an arduous procedure — I pulled the (epoxied? Something nasty) fretboard off, removed the truss rod, and filled the cavity with non-adjustable rods. I then put the fretboard back on and @joseamirodriguez did a kick-butt job planing the board and refretting it with jumbos. This got the neck feeling beautiful and it stays dead-straight with medium-tension nylon or super-light steel but I like it better with the nylon. The final bit was to remove the cruddy preamp box (and turn the cut into a soundport) and fit a simple K&K pickup to the old jack location. It’s now an interesting instrument rather than a sad-eyed wreck sitting in the corner. I took this in trade ages ago and procrastinated like crazy on it because it was such a big lift to get it back in service. I’m tempted to keep it because it’s so odd and where the heck else can you get a 15-fret classical with a “wizard”-like neck profile? #tacomaguitar #tacomaguitars #koaguitar #koaguitars #hybridclassical #hybridclassicalguitar #classicalguitar
