A little throwback to 2024. 🇦🇹✨

Some memories deserve to be revisited, and these are definitely among them.

The first 13 photos are from February 2024, when I had the privilege of travelling to Austria to perform works by Laura Winkler. The poems were narrated by one of Austria's most celebrated actors, Cornelius Obonya, and I had the honour of sharing the stage with Professors Klaus, Sophie, and Mathias, alongside Zuko and Hloni on violin. Hloni and I travelled from South Africa together for this unforgettable experience.

One of the highlights of that visit was performing alongside the principal clarinetist of the Vienna Philharmonic, an experience that made the project even more memorable. During the same trip, we also performed the music of the late Abdullah Ibrahim, whose legacy continues to inspire musicians across generations. Away from the stage, the jam sessions with Zuko and Hloni remain some of my favourite memories from Austria🙌🏾

The last 7 photos are from April 2024, when I returned to Austria to perform Beethoven's Eroica, led by Maria. We had an incredibly strong bass section, and it was a privilege to share the stage with such dedicated and inspiring musicians.

A heartfelt thank you to Pforte for making both of these experiences possible. From the invitation to covering all the expenses, your generosity opened doors for us to learn, perform, grow, and create memories that still mean so much to me today🙏🏾

Looking back two years later, I'm reminded that some of the most meaningful parts of music happen beyond the performances themselves, the people you meet, the lessons you learn, and the friendships that stay with you long after the final note has faded.

Forever grateful for these memories and everyone who was part of them. 🤍🎶
