💿 “BIRTHDAY” LIVE SESSION — THIS SATURDAY ON YOUTUBE!

📅 Saturday, October 17 at 12 PM (Halifax time)

💜 Subscribe to our YouTube channel so you don’t miss it! Link in bio!

Our studio recordings have lots of effects and layers (which we LOVE!), but this time we wanted to try something different: a stripped-down version of “Birthday” to show you what the song sounds like without all those extra elements.

We recorded it on a warm, cloudy day near Porters Lake, working with Modern Philharmonic @modern.philharmonic and Downbeat Media @downbeatmedia to bring this session to life.

A huge thank you to Bev for letting us use this beautiful space! The lake was gorgeous, the atmosphere was magical, and the mosquitoes were absolutely WILD after sunset. 🦟😂

Can’t wait to share this little piece of that day with you! 💜

Using the RGB in DaVinci Resolve

We had the privilege of getting to film the amazing show put on by @josef.hasler and his amazing band live at Bearly’s on July 9th, 2026. Which you can check out the full version of this through our website (link to this is in our bio).

Our footage came out dark and grainy to where we had to use the RGB mixer in order to bring some life back into our images. Here’s just a sneak peak of what we did, highlighting the RGB mixer as a great tool. If you’d like the full tutorial on how we colour corrected the entire film, there is a link to our YouTube channel on our website as well where you could see this!

Please let us know if you like this style of video in the comments, it really helps us out a lot and we love sharing with you what we’ve been working on!

Finally huge shoutout out to @modern.philharmonic and @chris_but_faster for making our lives easier with the lighting and sound to the highest of qualities <3

What an amazing summer it’s been at Down Beat, love you all and cannot wait to share more!

hey it's Luka 😛 thanks to everybody who showed up to Bearly's on Thursday to see the Josef Hasler Band w/ Soul Circuit. we absolutely went off the rails... even kickflipped the organ on the very first solo somehow.

everything was fully recorded and captured on video, so soon hopefully we'll have some really heavy stuff to show off.

and one more thing - do me a favour and send some love to Josef, this thing was his labour of love, so let him know if you wanna see more of this band.

thank you to Bearly's and folks who supported us, including Soul Circuit. love you all very much. 💗
