It’s scary how much I miss Death Becomes Her! The humor, the stagecraft and those voices, in that theatre! After 666 regular performances we had to say goodbye - and that will haunt Broadway forever - that’s pretty effin’ rude! Show: Death Becomes Her Songs: “Hit Me” & “Alive Forever” & “Stefan’s Turn” & “For The Gaze” & “If You Want Perfection” & “The Plan” Death Becomes Her is a musical, with a book by Marco Pennette and music and lyrics by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey. It is based on the 1992 film of the same name directed and produced by Robert Zemeckis. It made its world premiere in May 2024 at the Cadillac Palace Theatre in Chicago, and moved to the Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in November 2024. The original Chicago and Broadway productions received critical acclaim by theatre critics, for its score, book, production design, stunts, special effects, and humor with both Megan Hilty and Jennifer Simard receiving universal praise for their comedic timing, chemistry, and performances. It received a leading 10 nominations at the 78th Tony Awards and won for Best Costume Design in a Musical. The Broadway production was mostly praised by critics. In a positive review, Benjamin Lee of The Guardian stated that “after a buzzy initial run in Chicago, Death Becomes Her has been reborn on Broadway as a rousing, raucously entertaining hit”, emphasizing that the acting performances equal those in the film. Greg Evans of Deadline Hollywood wrote that the musical production “improves in every way over the 1992 film” in which “Mattison and Carey have concocted a knock-‘em-dead collection of killer songs…” The show played its final Broadway performance on June 28, 2026, after 27 previews and 666 regular performances. Enjoy! What are your favorite Broadway memories of Death Becomes Her?! #deathbecomesher #deathbecomesherbroadwaymemories #spookyseason #closedtoosoon #broadwaymemories

“The sword in the stone” has been pulled free by the birthday boy, Corey! ⚔️✨ Wishing you many magical years to come, filled with adventure, happiness, and unforgettable moments. Happy Birthday, Corey! 🏰🎂✨ I had such an amazing time creating this edible delight! 🍋🫐✨ And let me tell you—the cake is even more delicious than it looks! This beauty is made with Meyer Lemon Sponge Cake, Meyer Lemon Curd, Meyer Lemon Buttercream and Homemade Blueberry Compote. And of course, I couldn’t resist serving extra homemade blueberry compote on the side so everyone could add as much as they wanted! Bright, fresh, tangy, and perfectly sweet—a little taste of sunshine in every bite. The cake is 100% edible including the sword. The sword is made with fondant & gumpaste @satin.ice and painted with @colour.mill . I made edible moss to go around the cake and stone as well. Always a pleasure working with you, Josh! @josh.lamon ❤️ I truly adore you and am so grateful for every opportunity to create alongside you. Thank you so much for believing in me and giving me this opportunity. It’s always a joy, and I look forward to creating many more delicious memories together! #theswordinthestone #cakeisart #customcake #cakesofinstagram #nyccake

STOP SCROLLING. BROADWAY STARS ARE IMPROVISING ENTIRE MUSICALS AND WE NEED. YOU. THERE. 🎭🚨✨ No script. No rehearsal. No safety net. Just a Broadway baddie, a live band, the best musical improvisers in NYC, and whatever unhinged musical title YOU scream out of the audience. It gets written, scored, choreographed, and PERFORMED in real time. Then it’s gone. FOREVER. Poof! We will never see it again. You will never see it again. It’s giving once-in-a-lifetime. It’s giving “I was there.” It’s giving Broadway, baby. 💅🎶 Fall season starts MONDAY, OCTOBER 5 @ 7PM. Get in the room where it happens, babies. 🎟️ shitzprobe.com #improv #musicalimprov #nyctheatre #offbroadway #Broadway

And how it ended 🥲 Blast from the past! 💖 Death Becomes Her has been a movie I looooooove so much!!! When I’ve heard it was going to broadway I didn’t know what to expect.. a year later finally had a chance to get a last minute ticket, it was pure magic from start to finish. My favorite part on the entire play probably is when Mad is singing falling apart, because it’s exactly where there’s no turning back, she’s ready to give the big step. I really miss DBH so much 🥲 🎶 Wrinkled, wrinkled, little star.. Remind them who the fuck you are 🎵
