I never imagined life would look the way it does today.

Just before turning 32, I lost my job.

I moved to a state I’d dreamed about for years, believing it would be where everything finally fell into place. Instead, I learned that new places don’t erase life’s challenges-they reveal who you are and who will stand beside you.

The hardest lessons has been realizing who my real friends are. Time has a way of stripping away illusions and leaving you with what truly matters.

At first, I was angry and disappointed. Anyone would be. But, I’ve come to believe that when one door closes, God isn’t taking something from you-He’s making room for something you couldn’t see yet.

What felt like a setback became an invitation to grow. I rediscovered a level of discipline I’d lost, turned frustration into purpose, and found myself in the best shape of my life-not just physically, but mentally.

Washington gave me more than I expected. It gave me new friendships I’ll always value, moments I’ll never forget, and the chance to reconnect with people who mean the world to me. And somewhere along the way, it gave me Bandit-the greatest blessing to come into my life here.

I’ve learned that life rarely unfolds the way we plan. Sometimes the detours become the destination, and the chapters we never would have chosen end up shaping us the most.

Here’s to whatever may lay ahead, next stop Georgia! @joshbodeker
