Some voices don't just sing a raga. They carry a legacy. 🎶 At Mehfil-e-Khaas 15, Atharva Vairagkar took us deep into the world of Hindustani classical music — from Raag Megh and tarana to thumri, culminating in Yaad Piya Ki Aaye, originally composed and sung by the legendary Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan Sahab. A dedicated student of the Khayal tradition, Atharva has spent over 12 years in rigorous taaleem under Pt. Shankarrao Vairagkar Ji, Vidushi Gayatri Joshi Ji and Padma Bhushan Pt. Sajan Mishra Ji. A fourth-generation musician, he carries his family's musical legacy forward with a voice shaped by discipline, riyaaz and an extraordinary respect for tradition. And yet, there is something unmistakably youthful about his music — an ease, energy and freshness that makes the centuries-old tradition feel alive in the present. Accompanying this beautiful performance were Ankit Kumbhar on harmonium and Geet Inamdar on tabla, whose musicianship completed the experience. We were awestruck. We were smitten. And, for a little while, we simply forgot to breathe. Sometimes, the joke is a little too close to home. 📱 At Mehfil-e-Khaas 15, Mohit Sharma — actor, writer, stand-up artiste and co-founder of @ambalprod — walked into an impromptu conversation with the one companion we all seem to carry everywhere: Our phone. “Main Aur Meri Mobile Aksar Yeh Baatein Karte Hain” was part monologue, part stand-up, part nautanki, part one-act play — and completely Mohit. With dark humour, satire and improvisation, he had the audience in splits while quietly holding up a mirror to our generation's growing dependence on screens. We laughed. And then came the uncomfortable question: How much screen time is actually enough… before it becomes an addiction?
