This one is for the nerds. What an acoustical journey this build has taken! Were the Isomax clips, wallmat and all the layers worth it? Does green glue work? Is my STC rating high enough? Did we keep it “live” enough?

@nybackbuilds has been with me every step of the way and I couldn’t be more proud of how this turned out.

Yes, Altiverb impulse responses were captured and unharmed during this process.

And that's a wrap... as promised, some super Rad details were delivered and on schedule. Last few adjustments to make, and it'll be time to moon walk on out this beauty.
This project was a labor of love by all sub divisions of Nyback . And truly is what happens when you have an awesome team of guys with one goal in mind!...and that's to deliver an amazing studio! Loved working with @bergatronmusic @nybackbuilds @odus_bussberg @jmac6000 and all the other dudes at Nyback.

You pick who you want in your circle...In that circle, you find people who love music, live to build, I said live to build, and well have a clear direction on how things need to be done. I know a lot of builders who lack that part. In the end, the client suffers. When you find great people to build for, again we may not be able to do every project as we would love to. What I like about the Team at @nybackbuilds they are about the perfect combination of delivering on high expectations and having the right Clients like @bergatronmusic to build for. Watch out Socal... Home theatres and Studios are going to another level this 2027! Stay tuned. Huge shout out to all the awesome dudes that kicked butt to get this far! Almost there! @jmac6000 @odus_bussberg the homie Carlos dont have his ig and the homie JT, and last but not least Felipe! Good Night!

In this episode of The SOUND Project, Gavin sits down with Josh Nyback, a lifelong musician turned studio builder, who’s made a name for himself building high-performance, custom acoustic spaces. He shares his evolution from his band’s practice room padded with mattresses to building complex, fully isolated recording studios.

2024 marks ten years of The Girl You Thought You Knew record - ten! What a time in my life, and what a beautiful blooming it’s been since then. An exercise in working through my traumas, demons, and some major life transitions, the struggles I sing about here were mirrored in the experience of getting the album produced and out into the world. But it was so worth the perseverance it took, and I’m still grateful to all of the beautiful people who helped it come to fruition.

I’m telling stories all month over on my Patreon - join us for the celebration! (Patreon.com/maryscholz, and linked in my bio)

Happy 10th anniversary to this beautiful couple @gemsofmeg @joshnyback !! These amazing people were so trusting and kind to give me my first wedding as a lead photographer. They helped me launch my career, and I’m so grateful to them for that and stoked for them to have spent a whole decade together. Here’s to many more! 🥂
