14 years married today! As we were reflecting on the last 14 years we came up with some practical marriage advice:

• Marry your best friend
• Keep growing together
• Stay curious about what your spouse is learning (we call this bird watching 🥹)
• Go on regular dates no matter what else is happening in life
• Wake up wondering how you can make your spouse’s day better
• invest in and care for your chosen community together

Thoughts + highlights after #config (community version):

1. Hosted the Day 1 closing keynote w/ Catt Small + @mds + @rasmusfabbe

2. Hang Xu is a good kisser

3. Achievement unlocked: wife + daughter backstage watching dad’s keynote. Thanks Figma (truly)

4. A bird pooped on me before my keynote. Got some free swag out of it. New pro tip

5. Many of you are asking me to start a live show with Michael Riddering. Should we?

6. I create events I wish existed. Adding a new one next year: Hiking Green Gulch to Monastary. Smaller, beautiful, more intimate convos. You in?

7. Designers IRL > designers chronically online

8. Got invited to an event. Showed up. All friends had left. Knew no one. Met people for an hour. Realized I was at the wrong event. Womp-womp security. My party was next door. Went next door. All friends said “where you?” Then it ended after 10 minutes. rip

9. I throw good parties, but I think it’s time to create an actual conference. So I’m cooking that up next

10. Anyone can come to our party. I don’t care who you are. But you have to buy a ticket before they sell out. We charge for tickets. We try to invest all revenue into the event. Bigger venue, food, open bar, music, etc. Once it sells out, I’ll still try to get you in. But eventually, I can’t. So as I say in every announcement: “We WILL sell out quickly, so please don’t wait until the last minute.” - I get really bummed when I see this happen each year.

Today's Venus-Jupiter Conjunction in Cancer is a hot topic buzz word that seems to forgo the Mercury-Saturn side plot, a sticky but brief square that matters, too ♋👁️‍🗨️♈ But I'm personally using this "good luck" pop-astro moment to reflect on the Jupiter in Cancer cycle 💞

I've been thinking a lot on mothering (literal or metaphorical), reciprocity in labor and love, making a home in oneself, the way avoidant attachment is now justified as more autonomy when in late stage capitalism & Chr*stoFac*sm, to become an island while there are multiple crisises is not going to help us whatsof*cking ever 🏝️🚫🦀

I'd like to say this Astro day is all peaches'n'cream 🍑 but there are also sticky fingers with no sink and soap easily available depending on the way we frame what we are trying to chase 🚿 This late degree conjunction of the benefics (a huge concentration of energy, an overwhelm, do not forget) CAN be a sweet moment of meet-cutes, windfalls, good luck 🤞but perhaps over-exaggerated & could be a trigger event in the collective for scary shit around nationalism to come ☠️

Maybe it is better to hone in on our communal wishes & review learnings as related to our collective for the past year of Jupiter in Cancer before she fully wraps up 🙏 Home means nothing if it's self-centered; home is usually many and cannot be about hoarding all for one 🤑 There has been deep emotional excavation and, yes, finding home in oneself, but allowing the vulnerability to be closer to others has been a precious important lesson that we could honor before we come to Sunday's New Moon in Gemini 🌑👯‍♂️♊
