Lit Commons started as a way to keep track of book events. Now I’m also apparently a researcher, editor, marketer, writer, coder, financier, regional correspondent, and web designer (though “web designer” is being very generous.)

The Southeast edition is getting close. The website is becoming real. I keep learning one new skill at a time and immediately finding three more things I do not understand.

My sister is here Day 3! Started with lunch at @urbanmarketneenah which was delicious 😋 Spent a little time with our doodle brother Ringo and his emotional support towel ❤️ Went book shopping @lyonsfinebooks and picked up a book my sister recommended. Ended the night with happy hour with friends and some family and dinner at Solea 🌮❤️

I would be a hypocrite if I posted something press-side about buying books from the small press that publish you, and then didn’t do the work myself.

Fun thing about owning a press is that I get to also “read” the books I publish. I take that very seriously. When I clock out of my publisher role, I clock back in as a reader. That’s different. It’s personal.

For the next two weeks I’m reading these beauties. They are dark, comical, and downright page turning.

As always, I’m happy to recommend books from the stacks.
