Many of you may be aware of the lawsuit filed by the Solomon family-wealthy landowners featured in my film We Have Just Begun. They have suppressed distribution of the film and the attendant controversy has significantly affected my livelihood. Their case against me has been dismissed. The film is now free to be distributed. My lawyer, Michael Nosunchuk says, "As a result of this legal victory, We Have Just Begun and its author, Mr. Wilson, can continue to tell the story of Elaine without being bullied into silence."

Tired, sore, broke & emotionally drained but the overwhelming feeling is that of gratitude. Gratitude for the bands, we got to share stages with. It's been years since the always-phenomenal STRANGE VINE out of Fresno, California have graced our stage * We're really looking forward to welcoming back this Wednesday, October 7th for what's guaranteed to be a special night of music along with the great JOSHUA ASANTE @ 8pm * Tickets available for $12 @ www.whitewatertavern.com "They aren’t just the best band to come out of Fresno, Calif.; they are contenders for underground cult status. Strange Vine has mastered an oddly menacing mix of abstract rock with blues undertones, and listeners could lose themselves in the band’s combined vocal talent." ~Eugene Weekly  Strange Vine's earthy, energetic music is a fusion of blues, psychedelic, and traditional American rock. It's a sound born of California's Sierra Nevada Mountains, from two men who were raised there. Ian Blesse plays drums and Rhodes piano (simultaneously), while Toby Cordova fleshes out the songs with a rotating arsenal of guitars (including one made from a cigar box). Both contribute vocals toward a rich, layered sound that's greater than the sum of its parts. Joshua Asante is a musician, writer and photographer. He has toured extensively as a solo performer, sharing what he calls "astral soul", a blend of electronic and soul music wherein which one can sense the presence of many artistic forebears in fluidity. Onstage, Joshua sings lyrics inspired by the travel through space, the paintings of Hughie Lee Smith, and the literary work of Black speculative fiction giants Henry Dumas and Octavia Butler. For his live iterations of these ideas, Asante positions himself alone surrounded by synthesizers, drum machines, guitars and a saxophone. More than a mere attempt at the often benign one man band endeavor, he seeks to distill his influences and abilities into a singularity worth sharing. SV photos by: @juanmverduzco

Lately when I start to post, I end up scrolling through photos and videos and just cheesing. Kinda like when you’re talking on the phone to someone you really like. That has filled me up to my ears with gratitude. What a blessing to have a life that I enjoy taking on (moosssttt days), a career that I am proud of, endless invaluable experiences, all while living amongst some of the most beautiful people to grace the Earth. This last year was heavy on: 1. Refining my approach to thinking, living, and being. 2. Being honest and clear on what I actually desire. 3. Even more clear on what I do not want 4. HAVING A FREAKIN BLAST!!! Apparently that’s a recipe for ease and peace of mind yall, because I believe it’s working! Anywho, back to the cake and champagne! Love, KH 🫶🏾👑🍯

Howdy Honey Gang, Apparently it’s time to move into July, but lemme say this about June first ☝🏾😅 June was full of a whole lotta music, food, laughs, and work! I don’t know what my fav part was, but let’s give it a go (SWIIPE) Juneteenth in da Rock was one for the books! It’s always an honor to celebrate Juneteenth with the home team and share the stage with the incredible artists and entertainers that Mosaic brings out each year! That paired with one of my favorite 22nd Element pieces yet! Was it 114 degrees, Yes! Did I put that fly ass jacket on?! Absolutely because that’s what you dooooo, Beloved! No pain, no gain! The joy just snowballed right into the B.A.P Juneteenth afterparty that was a good ole backyard bbq with the fam. Thank you to all of my favorite folks who pulled up and kept the celebration of Juneteenth and Deej’s birthday going! Sunday with my fav babies (Granny & Chunka) - always top of the list! The love and time spent with these ladies is always top tier - joy and comedy! And I can’ t forget this quick slide to the Chi for good vibes, a turnt Kari faux set, and a DJ Cash Era set. Witnessing all of this in-person blew my mind in the best way (good looking Big J for putting me on)!!! The “You Just Had To Be There” event was dope, from the set up to the lineup - SUPERB! The Chi was such a time, I can’t get back soon enough! 🤘🏾🔥😮‍💨🔥🤘🏾 I also had the opportunity to sit what Ms. Genine LaTrice Perez at Hearne Fine Arts for the Legacy, Lyrics, & Local Sound Series which featured a panel of incredible women artists who are from and/or based in Arkansas. Thank you Ms. Genine for the invite and Garbo Hearne for supporting the arts in this way. Shout out to some of my fav guys (and Cousin Kim) for pulling up and supporting me and the series ✨🙏🏾✨ Oh and the album is officially in mixing mode! NEXT SHOW: July 23rd - White Water Tavern w/ THEE Stephanie Smittle & Honeysuckle Jam for Stephanie’s VINYL RELEASE SHOW Howdy 🤠 Howdy to my Bruv Joshua for helping me get it across the finish line and all of the mad talented musicians and artists involved.
