We shouldn’t have to leave LA to afford a future.

We’re building Democrats for an Affordable LA into a countywide force for more housing, good jobs, a stronger economy, better transportation, and safe neighborhoods.

We’re already chartered by the Los Angeles County Democratic Party, have a full 13-member executive board, and have received coverage in Politico. Next, we’ll turn that momentum into action by endorsing policies and candidates who share our vision and organizing to help them succeed.

Become a founding donor. Your contribution will help fund outreach, events, and the infrastructure we need to grow.

Give $25, $50, $100, or whatever you can. Every contribution helps us get started.

What’s actually happening with the Los Angeles economy?

Hilgard Economics has released the inaugural Q2 2026 edition of Regional Pulse, our quarterly assessment of economic conditions across Los Angeles County.

The latest data point to an economy that remains resilient, but with modest growth concentrated in a relatively small number of industries and continued challenges across several key sectors. The report examines employment, housing, commercial real estate, entertainment, and transportation across the region.

ENDORSEMENT ALERT 💗

I am incredibly proud to announce the personal endorsement of Joshua Baum, a longtime West Hollywood community leader, urban economist, Founding President of Westside Young Democrats, and current Board Member of California Jewish Democrats.

Joshua has spent years doing the work, from serving on West Hollywood’s Transgender Advisory Board to advocating for workers, affordable housing, and an economy where the people who help make our community run can actually afford to live here. Today, that work continues through labor, economic research, and the Institute for Creative Workforce Housing.

What makes this endorsement especially meaningful to me is that Joshua knows this city. They know its politics, its possibilities, and its challenges. They have been in the rooms, done the research, and put in the hours. That kind of trust means a great deal to me.

This campaign has always been about building something from the ground up, person by person, neighbor by neighbor, and conversation by conversation. Having the support of someone who has spent so much of their life engaged in civic service means more than I can adequately put into a caption.

Thank you, Joshua. 💗

We keep building.

Today, we’re excited to announce the launch of Democrats for an Affordable LA.

Los Angeles County should be a place where working families can afford to live, small businesses can thrive, and the next generation can build a future.

But for too many residents across our county, the rising cost of housing and everyday life is putting that future out of reach.

Democrats for an Affordable LA is bringing together Democrats who believe affordability and economic growth must go hand in hand. We support policies that expand housing opportunities, strengthen our economy, support small businesses, create good-paying jobs, and make Los Angeles County more affordable for everyone.

As a Democratic club, we will advocate for policies and endorse candidates who share our commitment to affordability, economic opportunity, housing, and broad-based economic growth.

We are currently organizing for chartering with the Los Angeles County Democratic Party and look forward to building a broad coalition committed to a more affordable, prosperous, and opportunity-rich future for every corner of Los Angeles County.

Interested in helping build the club? Check out the links in our bio to sign up as a member or apply to serve on our founding board.

Follow along and join us as we get to work.
