Truly proud to launch the latest @squash.tv documentary - Mahi: The @pdcoll Story!

This project started out on the drawing board over two years ago. Along the way, it’s been incredible to have had the opportunity to meet so many inspiring people, visit places I could have never dreamed of, and told one of the biggest stories in squash.

It’s been a huge team effort to bring this to life. I hope all the hard work that’s gone into this does justice to an incredible story!

Josh Komens' own path back to health, through cancer, a stem cell transplant and years of chronic illness, began with understanding how breath, body, and mind work together under stress.

Last night we had the privilege of welcoming Josh Komen to Bodyfix and what an incredible evening it was. 🙏🏽

Josh shared his story with such honesty, authenticity and courage. It was raw, emotional and deeply moving. His willingness to be vulnerable reminded us that mental health doesn’t discriminate and that there is real strength in speaking openly about our struggles. ❤️

As a club we often talk about building physical strength but taking care of our mental wellbeing is just as important. Moving our bodies can be such a powerful tool for supporting our mental health, but do can connection, conversation and just knowing your not alone. 🙏🏽

If you ever get the chance to hear Josh speak omg don’t miss it! We highly recommend reading his book. It’s a powerful reminder of resilience, hope and the importance of reaching out but most of all staying connected! 👌🏿

I’ve been reflecting on the 100 podcast episodes we have released in 2025.

It reminded me just how many extraordinary stories of resilience I’ve had the privilege of sharing this year (If you missed any of these episodes, they’re well worth going back to). 
Some of the voices that stayed with me the most this year 👇

🇳🇿 Джош Комън е роден в Нова Зеландия и е един от най-бързите лекоатлети на страната си на 800 метра. Професионален атлет и национал, на 23 години е в разцвета на силите си💪
🔴 Докато един ден нещата се променят. Тялото му започва да се разпада. Чувството на умора и отпадналост продължава дълго затова отива на лекар, където разбира нещо ужасяващо - открита му е тежка форма левкемия...

🔵 Лекарите казват на Джош, че му остават само няколко месеца живот, въпреки това се провежда курс от химиотерапии и изненадващо за всички Джош оздравява, болестта е в ремисия.
💔 Но тази свобода е кратка, тъй като левкимията се завръща с пълна сила и праща Джош в 10 дневна кома на ръба между живота и смъртта, а единственият вариант за спасение е трансплантация на стволови клетки.

💚 Има нещо много силно в тази история... Такава трансплантация му е направена, а донорът на Джош е младо момиче от Германия 🇩🇪. Един жест прави разликата между смъртта и живота за него.

🇩🇪 През лятото на 2025 г. Джош участва в Световните игри за трансплантирани в Германия, точно от там, откъдето няколко години по-рано идва неговото спасение, а той сбъдва мечтата си и отново е национал на Нова Зеландия 🇳🇿

💚 А думите на Джош: Никога не съм очаквал да бъда тук, но съм. Трябваше да съм мъртъв, но съм жив. Левкемията ми отне живота, но една личност ми го върна обратно.
Да бъда в Германия като участник на Световните игри за трансплантирани -Това не е съвпадение, а една пълна завършена картина на моята история.

💙 Джош пробяга 800 метра, завърши последен и не взе медал. Но неговата цел бе да завърши под 4 минути, завърши за 3:51.
❤️ След всичко преживяно и след финалната линия, Джош се срива на земята и започва да плаче - от благодарност, че това му се е случило и че е все още жив, и отново тича за страната си, но и за нещо повече - каузата Донорство.

💚 За хора като Джош може да кажем, че не той се е разболял от левкемията, а левкимията се е разболяла от Джош Комън 🙌

From one of New Zealand’s fastest 800m runners to battling leukaemia twice, a stem cell transplant, and countless health challenges, Josh Komen’s story is one of resilience, hope, and never giving up.

At the 2025 World Transplant Games in Germany, Josh proudly pulled on the fern once again, fulfilling a lifelong dream to represent Aotearoa 🇳🇿

The New Zealand Transplant Games Association exists to celebrate stories like Josh’s, proving that life after transplant is not only possible but powerful.
