I am someone who recognizes the incredible benefits of journaling ((the reflection & self-awareness that it enables)) but I tend to lack the discipline to maintain a regular practice 🤦🏻‍♀️ Which is why I had to share this idea that is waaaay less intimidating than staring at a blank page and trying to figure out what to write! —— —— @journal.as.altar ‘s approach of using a planner feels so much more do-able… like a Cliff’s Notes documentation of the various ideas and images that resonated with me over a given week. It would be, at the very least, a helpful reminder of where my head was at, and how I spent my time, during any given week. Anyone think they might give it a try?

🌈 THIS WEEK IN JOURNALING 🌈

So my Chani app today is telling me to "post my painting or poetry to social media & give others a chance to absorb my artistic side" and that doing so I will "become a magnet for fellow misfits, dreamers, and creatives," which is frankly very rude and unnecessary, but anyway I am here doing what I am told like a good little spiritual brat, so YO FELLOW MISFITS AND CREATIVES WHAT'S GOOD?!?!!!

It was a very good week in journaling. I moved into a new Leuchtturm 1917 dotted journal inside my Moterm cover, which was trepidatious because I was so in love with the previous one and was feeling nervous that I wouldn't love the new one as much, but I'm in love with the inside cover page I made with a postcard of a Cy Twombly painting, some mushrooms, and some stamps and stickers by my journaling muse @journal.as.altar and I am now really excited about being in a new journal. Transitions are hard! Paying attention to sensory joy helps!

Anyway, please enjoy these pictures of my journals I have taken this week. To have managed to become the art journal witch of my dreams is a happiness almost beyond bearing, and learning to share this joy is a really uncomfy growth edge.

3. Saturday morning journal lineup at my boyfriend's house.
