Our shows run through June 28:
“in Bloom” a solo show of watercolors by Brooklyn-based Joy Makon, is a collection of paintings featuring seasonal blossoms, Park Slope street scenes, and even a special vista from Athens, Greece.

“An Unfolding of Moments” in the Project Space, showcases work by Axelle Destaing, photography, Gail Flanery, monoprints, and Hyunju Kim, constructions made of fiber and thread.

Two places at once? I will be at @salmagundiclub this evening for a 6-8pm reception for the wonderful May shows in the galleries. My watercolor, “Urban Romance,” is in the Humans26 show in the Skylight Gallery. I think it’s a fabulous show, and join me for a drink at the Wiggins Bar! ALSO happening this evening, my solo show, “in Bloom,” opens today at 4pm at @440gallery in Park Slope Brooklyn. My colleague Ellen Chuse @ellenchuseart will be at the gallery to greet you and show off both 440 shows. Can’t make it this evening? The opening reception for “in Bloom” is Saturday, 5-7pm.

I first met these fellow art lovers in 2018 at the @guggenheim ’s Hilma af Klint exhibit. They are now so gracefully hanging out at @salmagundiclub in a new show, Connections, that opens today and runs through February 27. There’s a reception on Thursday, February 19—join me for a drink (my treat) at the Wiggins Bar if I see you there!

“Considering Hilma” 2019, watercolor on half sheet of 300lb Arches cold press
