The thing about herbalists is they get and talk to plants. Understand their laws.

To plant seeds generously.
To nurture without forcing.
To trust timing with patience.

Ecosystems. Interdependence. Generosity.

And in the end, the only way to really enjoy the fruit is with friends 🌱 @eterna.earth floresta gathering.

✨ 2025 ✨ was a big year to start a little flower farm, and I couldn't have done it without tons of support and all the incredible new people I met this year

January : first wedding of the season with dried flowers for sustainable winter flowers

February : planning for the season, with help from the @floretflower course and from my farmer friends

March : getting the green house turned on and starting seeds

April : seeding all the live long day

May : beds are prepped and planting begins

June : it was hot as hell but the flowers were loving it

July : first big wedding of the summer, and selling edible flowers to the lovely gals @bohemebutter and @thedreamlandcafe

August : the flowers were abundant that I started inviting people to come do u-picks! I ended up having 245 people come to the farm to pick flowers 💕

September : got to make fun food focused arrangements for my favourite girls @girldinner613

October : an early frost killed more flowers then I would have liked but that helped me transition to prepping for next year, made possible by a big family prep & planting day on thanksgiving weekend (we also planted garlic, and @goldiefloralsss came to plant bulbs for the spring)

November : finished up workshop season with a total of 148 participants in 13 workshops at the farm and across the city this fall

December : participating in the 613 Holiday Night Market successfully for four weeks (and had great neighbours to get me through it @yarrow.ceramics)

Thanks to everyone who helped make this year so lovely, see you in the field next season ☺️

🙂‍↕️🤝

it’s really interesting because when we first got together our paths were soooo different & it was hard to see how they could ever align.

me in social media/sales, him in big tech/AI…

as we’ve found ourselves over the years, our dreams have become so complimentary to each other in a way we never could’ve predicted.

well I guess the flower farmer thing could’ve been predicted…I’ve been making arrangements since I was 3 lol. BUT Kyle was a big indoor kid!!! he writes about that on the website, and how the food forest dream totally caught him off guard.

it’s been many years now of trudging through the mud of figuring out how the heck we wanna spend our lives & it’s WILD how crystal clear our shared vision has been since we started travelling over 6 months ago.

there’s still so much (basically everything?) that we havent figured out yet…but at least we know the general direction and have been taking the leaps to make our dreams manifest.

———

trusting the process & having fun!!! a constant practice we return to over & over & over bc wow the tendency to want to rush to the finish line is so strong!!! gotta remember that the process is where so much of the magic & medicine is

We have been blessed with some beautiful woofing friends over the past few months at Soluna Farm.

From gardening, to baby wearing, to bread making, to fitting windows, to fairying with the kids, each day we are recieving a myriad of support and in turn sharing our lives, knowledge and delicious kai.

As expected when sharing the intimacy of our homes with new people, there are challenges to overcome. It invites us to explore our own relationship with giving and recieving, and finding ways to navigate the complexity of humanness together.

The simplicity of our lives can also be confronting for newcomers. With composting toilets and outdoor showers without doors, baby pees on the deck, limited reception and wild animals hanging out, it takes a bit of getting used to.

And we are all here for it!

Open communication, sharing circles and patience in the process have all been key in maintaining harmony and creating a space where we are all thriving.

And through our wonderful woofers presence, we are coming together more regularly and beginning
some very exciting communal projects on the land.
