I like to make small paintings on paper as starting points for larger work on canvas...sometimes I collage pieces together to create a more dynamic and interesting composition. This one’s on the studio wall at the moment as it was one of the starting points for my recent Almscliffe Crag paintings

WIP today, experimenting with an idea I’ve been thinking about for a while....it relates to Staveley Nature Reserve where I often walk.....horizontal blocks of water, vertical shafts of light. Very early planning so hopefully a hint of new work to come:)
