I shared this because I think sometimes we forget how much our brains need moments like this. Rest is not only sleeping or doing nothing. Sometimes rest looks like painting a mug, laughing with friends, and being fully present.

Creative activities like painting help bring our attention back to what is right in front of us. They can interrupt the constant thinking, help our nervous system settle, and support our mood.

One part of the day pushed me outside of my comfort zone. This part helped me slow down.

Both were good for me. ❤️ Both 1% Better steps.

I did something I had never done before, zip lining. 🙃

I have been intentionally trying to do more things outside of my comfort zone, but in baby steps. This was one of those steps.

Why am I sharing this here? Well, our brains learn through experience. Each time we feel afraid, try anyway, and realize that we are okay, we give our brains new evidence that we can do hard things.

That confidence is built one small experience at a time. And that is really what my 1% Better mindset is about: understanding that change does not have to be big to matter. This is especially true when it comes to our health.

It may be adding a little more protein to breakfast, walking for 10 minutes, doing a few squats, going to bed a little earlier, or trying one thing we have been avoiding.

Each small action makes the next one feel a little more possible.

I also think there is something very meaningful about doing hard things with our children. They get to see that we can feel afraid too. We do not need to pretend to be fearless. We can show them what it looks like to be afraid and still move forward.

We were nervous. We did it. And we had so much fun.

And apparently zip lining was not enough of a challenge, because I also added a little extra weight with my weighted workout clothes.

One small step outside my comfort zone.

One more 1% Better moment for both of us.

What is one small thing you can do today that feels a little uncomfortable but could move you 1% forward?

This #OutOfTownTuesday, we’re heading to the Hamptons. 🏡

This newly renovated, New England-inspired colonial sits on a shy 1.5 acres right at the entrance to the Hamptons in Southampton. High ceilings, an open floor plan filled with natural light, custom cabinetry and stainless steel appliances in the kitchen — and two sets of sliding doors that lead straight out to the pool and patio.

Golfers, take note: Shinnecock Hills, Sebonack, and Southampton Golf Club are all just minutes away.

Whether you’re looking for a quiet retreat or your way into the Hamptons market, this one’s worth a conversation. Let’s chat!

😮 THIS HOME SOLD FOR $950,000 BELOW THE ORIGINAL ASKING PRICE. 🚨🤯💥

Too often, sellers bring a home to market at a price well above what their Realtor recommends.

While I don’t recommend overpricing a home and chasing the market down, there’s an important lesson here for buyers:

Don’t be afraid to make an offer just because a home is overpriced.

This property came to market at $3.75M.

It reduced by $100K.
Then another $150K.
Then another $300K, eventually reaching $3.29M.

The final sale price?

👉 $2.8 MILLION.

That’s $950,000 below the original asking price — roughly a 25% discount.

For perspective, the average negotiability in Miami-Dade County is around 5%.

We are still in a market where a well-priced home can sell quickly. But an overpriced home can sit for months, become stale, and eventually sell for substantially less than the seller once thought they would accept.

Buyers: don’t let an asking price scare you away.

If you like the house, make the offer.

The seller can always say no.

And sometimes… they say YES. 💥

10 years of Joy. ❤️

For a decade, Joy has been the person who simply gets it done.

The “Joy Special” is what happens when real estate requires something that is definitely not in the job description. Painting a bedroom herself. Managing renovations and cleanouts. Furniture shopping with a client. Fighting a bad appraisal. Untangling impossible transactions. Or following up year after year until someone finally finds their home.

She does it with grit, patience, creativity, incredible taste and a genuine desire to take care of people.

Miami born. Cuban Jew “Jewbanita”. Multi-generational Groveite. Brickell mom. Effortlessly cool. She can Shabbat Shalom and qué rico her way through just about any room in Miami.

But after 10 years, she’s much more than someone I work with. She’s a great friend, genuinely like a sister, and someone I can’t imagine not talking to every day as we work through the madness together.

10 years. Countless closings. More than a few Joy Specials. And I couldn’t imagine doing this without her. ❤️
