Faith in God. Confidence in the work.

In a perfect world, as performance coaches, we’d have all the time we wanted with our athletes.

But that’s rarely the reality.

Sometimes you may get 30 minutes on the pitch before team training.

And maybe that’s enough.

Our athletes don’t compete in timed sprints, GPS data, or weight-room numbers, they compete in the game.

That’s the main thing.

Everything else should support it.

So with 30 minutes, the question becomes:

What can we expose them to that helps drive the outcome we’re actually trying to accomplish?

Today, it was acceleration.

Bounds.
Resisted sprints.
Timed 10-yard accelerations.

Not trying to squeeze the “perfect” speed session into a small window.

Just enough of the right work, at the right time — and then get out of the way.

Good performance coaching isn’t about having the perfect environment.

It’s understanding the environment you’re in and making the most of the time you actually have.

Some plays from Monday night’s game. Making the most of every opportunity.

Step on the field. Make an impact. Keep growing.

Grateful for my teammates who push me and the coaches who continue to teach and believe in me. 🙏

Still a lot to learn, still a lot of work ahead — just getting started.

Speed. Strength. Recovery.

A center back’s job is to defend space, win battles, and handle contact without slowing down. Today’s match included all three.

Top speed recorded: 18.34 mph @playermaker
Chasing 20 mph by age 15.

F.U.N.

F is for Friends who do stuff together, U is for u n me, N is for anywhere and anytime at all!

Now if you don’t get that reference, go watch some SpongeBob.

On a more serious note, fun is now a non-negotiable in my programming. If the kids are laughing, smiling, and locking in then I’m not doing it right.

Engagement builds interest, interest builds intent, intent create adaptions.

Stop being so serious and find creative ways to achieve the adaptions. Some of these kids struggle because they don’t get to just be kids anymore. There is no play, on sport, school, and any other expectation they have on their shoulders.

Let’s bring fun back into the mix and you’ll be pleasantly surprised how their athletic development improves!

Iron sharpens iron.

I’ve always told myself I’d surround myself with good people. People that I’d walk into a dark alley for.

Grateful that I continue to attract this. Will never stop pushing to learn and grow. I promise you this.

Let’s keep it rollin. 🫡
