Hi. I'm a person. I post random things. I’m never on here but I’ll do photo dumps every other month. Follow my food blog account @jen_pachew

This weekly mystery bakery box from @embelsweet came across my feed and I just had to try it. I LOVED the lemon bar and chocolate chip cookie the most of the box. And I think having a hand delivered surprise bakery box is so fun!! Also even though my old friend founded this bakery, I’m not sponsored or obligated to make this video. I just genuinely liked the treats I got and think she deserves the love. #foodreview #philly #pastries #mysterybox #embelsweet

I enjoyed being with women all weekend 💜
Self-care means nurturing the divine feminine within, when you really sit to think about it. That’s the times humanity is in right now. 🌌

We need gentle-ness and creativity 🎨

Huge thanks again to @katieemz for making me feel like a cute lil’ doll with gifting me this dress🥹
I love it 🫶🏽

I was hoping to get this one out before @middlechildphiladelphia ended their BLT season but alas, procrastination/demotivation strikes again.

I had to see if this sandwich was worth all the hype and the hour long line. It’s a very yummy BLT but I don’t think it’s worth $16-21. I think that cost is a little outrageous. Especially after I just made a delicious BLT last night with $3 worth of ingredients and homegrown tomatoes.

Tonight I tried the new @hotlavapot2321 in Cherry Hill. It’s at 2321 NJ-70 in Cherry Hill, NJ. Full disclosure, the bill was about $100 after tax and tip.

TLDR:
The lobster and Wagyu were the best parts of the experience. And unlimited soft drinks. But the meat I had for bbq was very mid and the sauce bar wasn’t helpful for what I like. The sashimi was not the freshest. The hot pot had a big variety of seafood but a lot weren’t available tonight. Service was good. I liked the tablet system. Dessert was good. I still like Kpot in south philly better for taste and some items but there’s a lot of positives at Hot Lava Pot. Overall I wasn’t wowed and I give it a 7.5/10.

But just for the lobster and Wagyu alone I think it’s worth trying during their grand opening promotional time.

Sometime weeks ago, I tried out this cute tiny cafe called @desforra_cafe solely on the fact that the empanadas looked great. I’m happy to report that they were indeed. If I lived in this neighborhood then I’d prob eat here weekly. I really liked the empanadas and the Pao de queijo. And there was so much more on the menu I wanted to try. The woman who took my order was also really sweet and made me feel at home.

However there was a lot of loud background noise happening when I was eating and the space was really small and echoey so this video also inspired me to buy a microphone for future videos lmao. So if anyone has any recs, lmk.

The hanger steak at @bankandbourbon was delicious and that’s all I really have to say about this RW lunch experience. Not only was it good for a $20 steak but it was one of the better steaks I’ve had in a while. I genuinely am heavily considering going back again this week.

I treated myself to a Restaurant Week lunch yesterday. Tbh I don’t think I’ll do any RW dinners cause they’ve gotten more expensive and the service is usually terrible but I think the lunches are still a great deal. @darlingjackstavern had a really appealing menu to me and I’m really happy I went cause I had a lovely meal and lovely service. Everything was delicious! And honestly it made my day. The food was very good and very solid. If you’re looking for a place to go for RW lunch, Darling Jack’s chowder and brisket dip sandwich gets my approval.

Last week I tried @hankscinnamonbuns for the first time and they were so good that I had to come back out in the SNOW this week to get them again!! My mom said she was thinking about them all week and she doesn’t even like sweets like that. And I also don’t even like cinnamon buns like that. I will say tho, if you happen to pick them up in 30 degree weather like I did, warm them up when you get home cause they were not as fluffy and soft when cold lol. #cinnamonbuns #foodreview #bakedgoods #philadelphia

Merry Christmas! My gift is a video that is null because Christmas Village closed yesterday lmao.

This year I tried @humptysdumplings for the first time and these will be a new favorite.

I also tried the Pizza Leberkase, an alleged “fan favorite” from the bratwurst stand. It was okay.

I usually like the French Toast Bites and JD’s Bacon house but didn’t get them this year cause of the price.

I guess you can keep this in mind for next year’s Christmas Village lmao.

I’m so glad I finally made it in time to get the egg tarts from @30_percent_patisserie during her pop up at @heyrally on Saturday because they are really as great as I’ve heard. The crispiness from the flaky pastry layers is UNREAL!! Also I really love that they’re more like Portuguese egg tarts cause I actually prefer those kind over the Chinese ones. I like the looser custard that just melts in your mouth. Tbh I feel like her pop ups are more rare than other micro bakeries in philly so if you ever see one, I definitely recommend you check them out.

Also she’s having pre-orders for egg tarts that close on Dec 17th (sorry for the last minute notice. I’m also not paid to say this btw. I just like to share good food) and pickup is for around Christmas. If you like the average egg tarts you get from dim sum or a Chinese bakery, you’ll love these.
