This week builds all the way to a night we've been counting down to. We open Wednesday with the Jauron Perry Quartet, followed by the Aguanko Latin Jazz Septet bringing groove forward energy Thursday. Friday, the Allen Dennard Quintet takes the stage + a Swing Happy Hour, and Saturday, Kevin Jones & Tenth World keep the momentum going. Then Sunday, August 16th, touring headliner Braxton Cook closes out the week for a night you'll want to be there for.
Choose between Dinner & Show or Cover Only tickets on Sunday! Swipe through and reserve your seat at bluellamaclub.com.

Saved the best year for last!! So thankful for everything that MSU and their Jazz Studies program gave to me… incredible performance experiences, teachers and mentors who passed along incredible knowledge, and lifelong friends. I’ll dearly miss Michigan (winters and all) but I’m grateful for the springboard that the program and community put me on to go forth into my next chapter. Until next time - and onto the next 🤘 :)

A little moment from my band's performance last Saturday of "The Big Push" by Wayne Shorter.

This music is equal parts intensity, freedom, and conversation—always a thrill to play. @jpsoultrpt is playing that ish in this clip. More clips to come!

Thanks to all that came out to two sold out sets! Grateful to share the stage with such inspiring musicians!

Mark your calendar! August is full of nights worth planning around. We kick things off with the DJF All-Star Tribute to John Coltrane on August 1st, and Braxton Cook headlines a night we don't expect to have empty seats for on August 16th. In between, catch tributes to Anita O'Day and Sonny Rollins, Latin Jazz with Aguanko, and a full lineup of quartets and quintets carrying the sound of the club all month. Swipe through and reserve your table at bluellamaclub.com. 🎷

I’m incredibly excited to present The Mahogany Collective at @cliffbells on July 25th. This performance is especially meaningful to me, and I’m looking forward to sharing an evening of music with some of my favorite musicians and close friends. We’ll be performing original compositions alongside arrangements that have helped shape the sound of this group.

Joining me on stage will be @sidkitmusic, @jpsoultrpt, @finkianfink, @sounds.by.wan, and @michaeljreedmusic.

Set times: 7:30 PM & 9:30 PM

We can’t wait to share this music with you, and we’d love to have you with us. Come spend the evening at one of Detroit’s most iconic jazz clubs.

For reservations and more information, visit cliffbells.com or check the linktree in my bio.

Thanks to @joefieldergraphics for the poster!
See you on July 25th! 🎶

To my Mentor/ Teacher, Rayse Biggs:

I honestly don’t know what to say other than just, thank you. Thank you for your wisdom, you critique as a trumpet player and jazz musician and for your support. I have not only been an inspiration to me but to the other jazz trumpeters and musicians alike who have met you. From recording to teaching to performing, you have been the reason why I keep playing and I am dearly grateful for that. Now you left this earth to beyond and you will be well remembered.

Thank you so much sir. Rest in Peace Mr. Biggs.

Crazy to think I’m down to my final month in Michigan! If you want to catch me play before I leave, here’s everywhere I’ll be until I move out. Would love to see some familiar faces before I see you next time :)
