Another DAY another GRAND adventure...
*
Today, we took a ferry to Santa Cruz Island in search of the island fox. They are found nowhere else on Earth, and we saw five of them!!! They are so cute and the size of a house cat.

On the ferry ride out and back, we saw 1000's of dolphins, the most I have ever seen. It was incredible to witness.

Santa Cruz Island is the largest of all the Channel Islands (and California!). It's 24 miles long and six miles at its widest, and we barely scratched the surface with the 6 miles we did today. The island is rich in Chumash history, and at Scorpion Anchorage, there are remnants of ranching equipment. We had a fun filled day!!! #channelislandadventure #santacruzisland #islandfox #weekendadventures #hiking #hikingadventures #wildlife #islandpackers

Frosty pines and frosted trails...

Started the New Year hiking in the Manzanita Lake Area. It was brr brr cold 🥶 I couldn't feel my toes! The trails we did were: Manzanita Lake loop, Reflection Lake, and Lily Pond. We also had amazing views of Lassen Peak and Chaos Crags. #mazanitalake #lassenvolcanicnationalpark #winterwonders #winterhiking #frozenlakes #frostypines #reflectionlake #2024 #firsthikeoftheyear #moutainpeaks #snowcappedmountains #northerncalifornia

Cheers to 2024!

We had a delicious dinner at View 202 and took a stroll on the iconic Sundial Bridge (another ✔️ off my list). An absolute architecture marvel. It's a working sundial and one of the largest in the world.
Wishing our family and friends a Happy, Healthy, and Prosperous New Year! #newyearseve #sundialbridge #view202

Wrapped in snow...

Another amazing day! Checked off a couple more items off my list. A visit to Lassen Volcanic National Park and snowshoeing. Such beautiful, wintery scenery. ❄️
I couldn't have asked for a better experience! We did 2 miles to Sulphur Works, which was a good cardio workout. It's definitely a place we will be visiting again!!! #winterwonderland #wintervibes #snowyvibes #cascaderange #lassenvolcanicnationalpark #snowshoeing #snowytrails #winterwonders #snowmuchfun #snow #bucketlist @lassennps

McCloud Falls is a great trail that passes along three waterfalls: Lower Falls, Middle Falls, and Upper Falls. #mccloudrivertrail #basaltlavarock #shastatrinitynationalforest #northerncalifornia #weekendhike #hikingtrails #photography #hikingadventures #waterfallhike #mccloudfalls

I'd rather be hiking in the rain than sitting inside at a desk on a sunny day...

Day 1 of our trip exploring Northern Cal.
Whiskeytown Falls was our 2nd stop, and it was a rainy one! The waterfall here was fantastic!!! At 3 miles, it is a steep, strenuous one but so worth it!!! #whiskeytownfalls #whiskeytownnationalrecreationarea #waterfallhike #mushrooms #bananaslugs

Crystal Creek Falls was our 1st stop. A super short hike to the beautiful falls. A popular place for swimming in the summer. #waterfallhike #northerncalifornia

Holly Roger's Christmas...
*
Roger's Gardens has been on my list of locations to visit during the holidays, and boy, it did not disappoint! The Gardens is one of the best I've seen. The Christmas Boutique is a dazzling display of Christmas cheer as far as the eye can see. A must-see this holiday season. 🎄🎅🤶 #rogersgardens #rogersgardensnewportbeach #gardens #christmastime #christmasornaments #christmasmagic #christmasspirit #christmastrees #christmascheer #holidayspirit #tistheseason #holidaycheer #christmasambience @rogersgardens

Let's give them Dumpling to talk Bao
*
We finally got a chance to eat at this tasty dumpling house. It has been the hot spot to eat at. We tried the following: Red Bean paste bun, Egg custard bun, Shanghai vegetable bun, rainbow vegetable dumplings, chicken wonton & udon noodle soup with Taro boba milk tea. Everything we had was yummy!!! 😋 We will definitely be back. #dumplings #dumplinghouse #foodieexperience #dimsum #bobatea #datenight #delicious #eeeeats #nomnom #onemorebitedumplinghouse
