POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
If you have a moment, please take a look at my post from yesterday! Today’s post is a continuation of that post. We started a series of posts displaying blade profiles that I enjoy doing and discussing terminology and strong points that each of these may have.

The common name given to a blade with this style of peripheral geometry is Hissatsu. Translation of this word is “certain kill, deadly, inevitable, without fail, to put to death”. To the best of my knowledge, this is not an old world blade style at all. My very good friend, James Williams, is responsible for bringing this Blade style into existence. Many companies have applied their own version of peripheral geometry, and used the term Hissatsu. This is a very purpose oriented tool as the translation of the name implies. It serves extremely well for penetration with great emphasis on lethality. James is a recognized subject matter expert and a well respected member of the edged tool community and has been so for decades. I’ve had the pleasure of his friendship for decades as well.

With the tremendous penetration this blade provides, one can also logically deduct that tip strength should be evaluated with realistic expectations. As is the case with many specialty tools, they excel in specific measures of performance and sacrifice in others. This would be less likely to be considered an everyday carry blade and an outstanding choice for offensive, defensive, and edged tool combatives.

As you can see in the two pictures, I offer it ground symmetrically on both sides, as well as single side ground on either side. There are many discussions regarding which cuts better. The truth of that matter is determined by a guy named Pythagoras. With all other aspects equal, the edge angle will determine cutting performance. Obviously a finer edge angle will cut more efficiently.

The amazing and beautiful lady with me in the next picture is my best friend, the love of my life and my Brick House! That has absolutely nothing to do with these two knife designs, but I’m crazy about her and just like to tell the world.

More blade shapes tomorrow!!! Thanks for visiting!!!

I. LOVE. THIS. ONE….. here’s a 1of1 piece for @jslull to his wifey and I’m obsessed 🍄‍🟫🤍🤎💚
I completely freehanded and drew this runner myself— there’s minimal carving so it’s not the usual CRIZZZPY piece, but it’s so organic and CUTE ugh I’m so proud of this one!
It’s going to go perfect in their home and YALL…. It’s SO COZY AND SO PLUSHHHHH!!!! Your feet will be in heaven.

So here’s some pics of it in different lighting along with what it looked like before I shaped it up a bit (end pictures on the frame) 🖼️
