My friends and family know that I always like to mark solstices. This summer solstice was extra special as I spent it at @solstice.festival in Finland, which is so far North that (for around a month) the sun never sets.

I recently turned 30 and have gradually gone out less over the last few years. My love of electronic music has largely transformed into listening to mixes whilst working/cleaning/cooking/commuting and putting my own radio shows and mixes together at home.

I thought my days of fully immersing myself in a festival might be over. But Solstice made me realise that it’s still possible. It felt the way festivals were originally intended to feel - a gathering of humans coming together at the peak of a mountain to celebrate the midnight sun. 🌞 ⛰️

Now I’m back in my flat (and my more introspective music habits), I’ve recorded a mix inspired by the festival, covering techno, prog trance and a splash of ambient. Ft music from @sepehr.inc @posthumanmusic @alex__kassian & many more ✨

The link to listen is in my bio @nam_darl, tracklist in the final slide
I’ve also put some more thoughts in a Substack post (also in bio)
