Summer was off to a good start - Sophie’s sip and see back home in Connecticut, a wedding in Kentucky, a visit to Virginia Beach to see her great-grandpa, quick trips into the city, Andrew’s 10-year reunion, walks around Boston where it all started, a little shopping in NYC, Greenwich, and Boston, and most of all, lots and lots of family time. My heart is so full, in the best way :)

This is how I rebuilt my life after being uprooted from my home.

I shared in my last post about how 2024 was a year of extreme change, and intensity to say the least. If you’re curious what I mean, check out my last post!

Then came 2025. The goal for 2025 was stability. To be honest, that goal is very much alive now in 2026 too.

I spent the first few months of 2025 as a live in home aide for a friend of ours. After our work was done, Sandy and I decided our next move was to become digital nomads. We researched everything, from camper vans to temporary leases, and eventually landed on taking our homelessness to new levels: Camping.

Our first stop was Assateague Island in Maryland. After getting a flat tire, changing it on the side of a busy highway, and hours of driving, we finally made it in the pitch dark spring night of April. It was our home for the next two weeks, and it was incredible. Peaceful, isolated, and convenient! Thats where my addiction to Dunkin’ Donuts iced lattes began, and where I discovered that wild horses will indeed go through all of your things.

Once the weather got warmer, we made our way back to upstate NY, camping in New Paltz, until May, when we house sat for our dear friends for 3 months.

Eventually, August came, and we drove back to NYC to spend time with family for a month, while we looked for a new home. We knew that we couldn’t make camping work as it got colder again, since most campsites would be closed, and we weren’t really equipped to handle cold weather, so we started apartment hunting.

And lo and behold, after a lot of disappointment, consistency, hard work, and faith, we found an apartment to call home.

I can’t wait to share more of my journey with you all, as I continue to build a beautiful life from scratch.

Thank you for reading through this. From the bottom of my heart, I hope all of your dreams, hopes, and wishes come true ❤️

My red flag is I’ve been using the same journal for 2 years 😭

Life has been moving faster than I have, and I’ve been wanting to share everything I’ve been doing, going through, accomplishing, and failing at.

2024 was the year one of my grandmothers had a stroke, and the other was diagnosed with stomach cancer. It was also the year I went through domestic violence, and had to pack up all of my things in boxes, and leave the city which I called home for 25 years. I made my way to the Hudson Valley, where I became a part time horse caretaker, home aide, and embraced my love of nature.

It was the year where I made my first sales calls, that ended up in a lifelong friendship. It was the year I got to fulfill a lifelong dream of working with and being around horses (which is still very much alive today). It was the year where I bought my very first car, my sweet girl Darling.

But it was also the year where for the first time, I was so far from my family every day. It was when I started to eat worse, gained weight, and felt stress, pressure, fear, and instability.

Looking back on it now, I see my story unfolding, just like yours is, and everyone around us. And even though back then it was tough, now, I can see it was necessary, and a blessing.

I’m so excited to share my 2026 so far with you, but for now, stay tuned for my 2025 post.

Thanks for reading. If you got this far, DM me and I’ll make you cookies. Or a cake. Or some other baked good 😘
