POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What a day! When most of your work life is spent speaking, teaching, and facilitating, it’s a real gift to simply be a participant. To take notes, ask questions, and learn from the best of the best.

Today, my speaking agency, Speakers Spotlight, hosted the 2nd Annual Talk Exchange. An incredible opportunity for speakers from across the country to gather, connect, learn, and grow.

Here are a few highlights that are staying with me:

Session #1 was co-led by Eric Silberberg and Eli Glastone of @speakerlabs They broke down what it truly takes to pursue excellence in speaking. Constantly paying attention (and improving) 4 things: Content, Delivery, Visuals, and Mindset.

Session #2 featured a powerhouse panel with singer/songwriter Peter Katz, comedian/actress Jessica Holmes, and author/entrepreneur Hamza Khan. I was especially inspired by the intentionality each of them brings to getting to know their clients. And their commitment to treating every event as if it were the Super Bowl.

Session #3 spotlighted the exceptional team at Speakers Spotlight: Paula Sage (COO), Amy Panchyshyn (VP Marketing), and Bryce Moloney (SVP). My biggest takeaway? A much deeper appreciation for the million moving parts they juggle for every event, and just how seamlessly they make everything feel for clients (and for me). My admiration for these folks somehow grew even more.

Session #4 from Julie Sheldon, Senior Social Strategist and Co-Founder of Tough Love Collective, helped make social media feel far less overwhelming. Her framework (Visibility, Credibility, Personality, and Engagement )is simple, usable, and already clarifying next steps for me.

Session #5 was led by Josh Stone of Josh Stone Media, who shared fantastic insights on capturing great event footage and what it really takes to build a world-class sizzle reel.

The entire day was hosted by Speakers Spotlight’s co-founders, Martin and Farah Perelmuter, who brought everything together in a way that was skillful, seamless, and genuinely fun.

A huge thank you to the whole @speakersdotca team for organizing such an outstanding event, and for another incredible year of partnership. I’m one lucky guy.

*This photo was taken at the opposite of golden hour ☀️and I love it*. If you follow more than one photography account on instagram, you’re likely aware that photographers are often obsessed with ‘Golden Hour’ - That delicious pocket of light just before sunset (or after sunrise). Is it worth the hype? Yes. BUT… if the thought of asking your little people to be their happiest selves while pushing them well past their bedtimes makes you sweat… I just want to tell you, it’s okay. Golden hour is great but you know what’s also great? When everyone is fed, and rested. Don’t stress.

When we kidnapped @seanchili

#throwbackthursday to #FuelWest when our beloved “Safety Sean” got hired onto the @hamiltonautoex 👨‍🚒

Most people celebrate these types of achievements, we held him hostage. 🦹‍♂️

Good times never die.

And that’s a wrap on storytelling month! We had so much fun looking at how brands tell great stories. Stay tuned for a new month of digital content! Something tells us designers will love November. 😉

HISTORY LESSON 9: 🙌Gratitude🙏
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Welp, this is our second last history post - and we’ve landed on gratitude. There’s not really much to say except thanks... as we officially close the space and roll our services into online and personal training, we feel more than a touch nostalgic and thankful for all of you (a small sample of whom are tagged in this post) that made classes, events, dance parties, hugs, swings, collaborations, trx rows or just showing up to our studio on the daily - worth a smile. As we head into this fall of change, growth and opportunity, our hearts are full, eyes are open and we are looking forward to sharing in all the new ways to get moving (and smiling) with you. Thanks for the ride ya’ll 🙌🙏
