New Perspectives Section
Curated by Yulia Ani & Julia Liko
at New & Abstract Gallery, Berlin
@new_and_abstract

We were invited to guest-curate the “New Perspectives” section of the #17 group exhibition, bringing together 11 Berlin-based artists working across different mediums, materials and artistic approaches.

Our focus was on strong individual works that also create a dialogue with each other.

Thank you to Alexander and New & Abstract Gallery for the invitation and trust.

We are excited to present the Berlin-based artists Yulia Ani (@yuliani.art ) and Julia Liko (@julia__liko ) in the latest ART RADAR interview. For the upcoming GROUP SHOW 17, opening on May 7, they will take on the guest curation of the “New Perspectives” section.

Artistic practice and curatorial thinking merge in the work of Yulia Ani and Julia Liko into a shared process: with New Perspectives, they create a space for dialogue between generations and artistic positions, navigating material, perception, and transformation.
In the interview, they speak about selection, collaboration, and curating as an extension of their own practice.

With Group Show #17, the New & Abstract Gallery presents a multifaceted exhibition of contemporary works spanning painting, video, installation, and digital visual spaces. At its core is an open dialogue between abstraction, movement, and narrative fragments, which brings together diverse artistic approaches within a shared space of resonance.

Special attention is given to the newly presented video installation *The Swimmer* by Rolf Bremer, which is shown in a revised form and places body, space, and perception in a fluid context.

We are especially pleased to have won Yulia Ani and Julia Liko as guest curators for the “New Perspectives” section.

Glimpses of the work and by they the artists in our house, so many different directions, so many different brains, ideas, approaches and goals. I truly believe that’s what the beauty in this is all about.
