The people you surround yourself with can change everything.

WIE Suite member Julia Collins, founder of PlanetHAUS, Planet FWD, and Moonshot, joined Emma Grede on the Aspire Podcast to share one of the most valuable lessons from her entrepreneurial journey: building meaningful relationships with other founders is just as important as building the business itself.

Whether they’re a few steps ahead, right alongside you, or just getting started, the right community can become your greatest source of support, perspective, and sometimes, the courage to keep going.

Because no one builds something extraordinary alone.

Such a special night celebrating @sherri.mcmullen and the opening of @shopmcmullen on Maiden Lane in San Francisco. Sherri, you have such a distinct eye for fashion, bringing established names + emerging designers together in a way that always feels unmistakably you. Welcome to Maiden Lane, alongside some of the biggest names in fashion, exactly where McMullen belongs!!! So happy to celebrate you + the team, and especially proud that @maedbeauty can now call McMullen home ♥️ Biggest Congratulations!!!

$423 million!💰 That’s how much entrepreneur Julia Collins (@juliaecollins) helped raise for Zume Pizza.

Julia Collins made history in 2018 when Zume Pizza, the food-tech company she co-founded, reached a $2.25 billion valuation, making her the first Black woman to co-found a unicorn company.

Zume was built around an ambitious idea: combining robotics, automation, and food technology to change how pizza was prepared and delivered. The idea caught the attention of some of venture capital’s biggest investors including SoftBank Vision Fund, SignalFire, and FJ Labs.

Julia holds the No. 3 spot in The First 200 Index, which documents the first 200 Black women founders in the U.S. to raise $1 million or more in venture capital.

And her entrepreneurial journey didn't stop with Zume. She went on to launch Planet FWD, a climate technology company helping consumer brands measure and reduce their environmental impact.

Small choices. Bold actions. Big ripples. 🌊

It starts with what we choose to buy, build, support and protect. Small choices and big commitments can create ripples of positive change for people and the planet.

A moment of reflection with Van Jones at PlanetHAUS NYC.

What’s one small choice you made for our planet this week? 👇

There’s a special kind of magic in a room full of people who show up for each other. ✨

We had the honor of capturing @ulbayarea ‘s Empowerment Gala & Garden Soirée, a night celebrating resilience, excellence, and the vital work the Urban League of the Bay Area does for our communities. 🤎

This is why we do what we do. 📸

Planning a gala, fundraiser, or celebration worth remembering? Let’s talk. Link in bio.

Always JOY and realness with an @EmmaGrede gathering. Thank you, dear Emma, for always pouring into all of us, and welcoming us at your table. You are one of one!!!

The past year has been a true test of determination, and I really needed a night like that to let me know that support is there, and we are all not alone. Cheering on every single woman and founder, everywhere, always.

Girls Night!! 🫀🏹 Nothing fills my cup up more than a night with incredible women. @emmagrede ILYSM thank you for always convening the ladies for some good, hard, honest, beautiful and joyous conversation. I’m so proud of every woman at the table last night. Just when I start thinking the World is a crumbling mess I’m reminded that we’ve all got each other and women as a collective are so much more powerful than they’ve ever wanted us to believe. 🎐 Less than a month until the midterms. Change is coming.

I had an absolute blast at New York Climate Week 🌎🗽! It was the perfect balance of very serious work and fun.

The absolute highlight of the week was an amazing conversation with @aunt_viv and @jaythehandy of @blkmktvintage on Circular Economy, cultural preservation, and Black storytelling at @planet.haus . “Do you want an LLC or a legacy?” was such a bar. Thank you so much @juliaecollins for having me and thank you for such kind words. I’m so grateful for your industry leadership and friendship 🥹🥰

Another special moment was Climate VC karaoke with my linesister-bestie @antoinettejwest - how’d I get so lucky to have another climate badass on my line?!

P.s. It is also an honor to be the official PlanetHaus DJ!! 😎

P.p.s. Lots of grace to everyone still getting used to my new last name!!! 😉💍
