Our hearts break for the trauma inflicted on our community. While we fight for justice, we also fight for healing.

Free therapy sessions available for all directly impacted by the ICE raids and harm experienced at protests. No one should face this alone 🦋

you know what you get back on the other side of letting go of distractions?

the pleasure of truth
the pleasure of gravity
the pleasure of what is real

you might also get time back
and your attentional resources

(we only got so much real estate; your focus is precious)

ideas for what to focus on outside of distractions:

friendships
creative projects
desires (real long term ones; not escapist immediate ones) for life
longevity
learning
reading
deepening skills
movement
the gut microbiome
pushing up against systems of oppression at large
and the ways in which they occupy the body and mind.

what are we here to create?

what is the dream we want to live?

what is the pain we want to help humanity heal from?

how do we redirect our focus to heal it in ourselves?

this is what it looks like to be loved merely for existing and knowing how unbelievably lucky you are to experience it.

I just emerged from the nourishing enclosure of a writing retreat in the Scottish Highlands. It is one that I facilitate annually and this year, I knew that no matter the outcome, I wanted it to be post-election. It was a wise decision. Disconnecting from relentless, anxiety provoking news cycles and instead, fortifying connection with Earth and each other in an intentional space was deeply healing.

To be out in the wild – whether the virtual wilderness of social media or the physical wilderness of a forest – when we're wounded is a dangerous place to be. So I went inward, into a safe space like any other wounded animal would, to rehabilitate and regroup.

Today, back in Western MA, I feel deeply grateful just to be. To feel the sun on my skin, to hear birds call, to be with loved ones, to be able to find a different way.

Fighting against those who seek power at the expense of others and who seem to lack any empathy is a futile endeavor. Instead, I’ll be putting my energy and efforts into planting seeds and building (and collaborating with) communities of care and resilience.

🍂 Wildly grateful to Adhamh, Nicola, Kate, Alastair and all who made the journey to share and co-create the autumn retreat this year. 🍂

In our first communication, connection and conflict workshop, @juliawillingertherapy @powerthroughprocess and I covered early attachment, getting relational needs met, and laid the foundations for an understanding of how/why we show up the way we do in relationships. We also touched on boundaries and taught a few relational communication tools that we’ll dive deeper into in part 2.

Join us on Zoom for part 2 of our embodied connection: communication and conflict workshop on August 12th from 6-9pm. In part 2 we’ll practice relating to others in new and more productive ways, learn concrete skills from various therapeutic modalities (DBT, NVC, Gottman, IMAGO and more) and put those skills into action with worksheets and one-on-one practice in breakout rooms. Part 2 will be much more interactive than part 1, and comes with access to the recording of part 1 so you can catch up on what you missed!

Part 2 is $100 whether you come alone or join with a partner, sibling, roommate or friend!

DM me or email julia@juliawillinger.com for more details.

Conflict and connection is hard! After teaching the course last year, we wanted to make it more accessible. We are offering a free two hour workshop on June 15th from 10-12pm on zoom from a more embodied approach on these topics. This workshop is focused more on psychoeducation and
building awareness towards these topics. This will be recorded. Let us know if you want to attend live or rewatch later!

We are excited to invite you to join us as we dive into information, tools, and resources to support improved communication and healthy
relationships. We know it’s not always easy to navigate conflict or bridge communication differences. This workshop is centered on sharing
and practicing effective embodiment strategies that can help regulate the nervous system and build resilience through discomfort. Our hope
is that you gain proven skills that can support the way you relate to others. This workshop is for adults looking to apply embodied relationship skills with partners, friends, siblings, parents,
co-workers, roommates, and many more.
