LECAVALIER SSFW27 — Publication by Mathieu Huppé

Conceived for the first Sozzani Awards in Milan, this publication was developed alongside the LECAVALIER SSFW27 collection as a way of documenting and extending the research behind the work.

Material experiments, leather trials, textures and techniques are brought together with fragments from personal and studio archives. Through Mathieu Huppé’s vision, these elements are observed, repeated and abstracted, creating a visual language around the processes and references that shaped the collection.

Material research has always been at the core of LECAVALIER. This publication offers a glimpse into that process: where experimentation, construction and memory become part of the work itself.

For Klo Pelgag’s 2020 album Notre-Dame-des-Sept-Douleurs, Julien Hébert @julien_hebert and David Beauchemin @celine_le_chien developed an art direction and visual identity that echoes the record’s baroque pop sound and its exploration of life and death.

At the heart of the project is an oil portrait of the artist by Florence Obrecht, paired with a striking neon vinyl record that evokes a fire of anguish and a malevolent eye. Together, the elements create a visual world that feels theatrical, haunting, and deeply atmospheric.
