After 1 year of struggling with these jumps (or the feeling of them), the day has come. 🥹 Today, for the first time ever, I could jump these jumps without it feeling like its 100% wrong in my body. I finally had some more air time. And the toeloop just felt easy, thats crazy. It just came along with the fixed salchow. And It PLOPS! I can’t wait for it to get even better now 😍

If anyone else is struggling with salchow/or toe loop, I really recommend watching @spinningandjumping Salchow secrets on youtube, thats what finally changed it for me!

and also, never give up lol. I’ve practiced almost salchow every session even if I hated it.

I've been getting some critique from @spinningandjumping and also I watch @inskater and I get some feedback from Jenn Kilmer and more. Jackson's explanation and demo has just helped me to try to rewire my body's concepts about jumping. It's really an uphill battle for adults but I'm happy I've been able to help my daughters land theirs. The youngest has a bit more fear and has been kind of manifesting my bad habits but Alexeis videos where he talks about the hip and shoulder needing to be higher than the jumping hip and shoulder....i have been trying that and noticed it helps with rotation. It also helps with jumping straight. So when i saw my daughter jumping into the circle and trying to jump straight I realized that it was an issue of dropped hip and shoulder. After trying to raise them her jump was much more straight and backwards. Now she just has to replicate and practice the landing. Then I took my own advice and landed these you see here. It gets into the spin quickly too and is bwd. Some here are around but it's way way better and a good jumping off point. I'm gonna start easing in doubles bc I've beat a dead horse here and need to move on. I know there are other things and i will keep working on them. But for now the pivoting and round house concept from Jackson as well as the raised hip and shoulder to get more left to right follow through from @inskater i was missing that piece and unable to get over to my right side. Also Jackson reminded me to try to get my heel to toe to be more dramatic and snappier, to work on being behind.my hip and the follow through to be in front of the hip on take off when i then pivot. That helped a lot to focus on. If you need another set of eyes on your Axel i can probably help you as im starting to be able to see the issues. #figureskating #skatesational #iceskating #figureskates #patinageartistique #iceskating

Still in progress but really happy with these axels and at least being normal to landing surface as opposed to over 90. Video work w spinning and jumping and the words and explanation make sense. A lot of coaching is figuring out how to say things for them to be understood. Sometimes the gap between expectations and reality are really intense and insurmountable and even with super solid skating advice and instruction the gap is too wide #skatesational #inlineskating
