3 years at boarding school changed my life. Somewhere between the highs and lows, this place stopped being a school and became home. It gave me a family, a community that carried me, and a place where I could become my authentic self. Truly God’s gift.

I’ll remember Oli and Leon, my two English grandmasters whose late philosophical debates somehow kept my mind alive when I had no brain cells. I’ll remember campaigning for Jerry and Mia, watching them grow into leaders who’ll carry this place forward as the next President and Vice President. I’ll remember Jessie Chen’s impossibly nonchalant, under-the-radar presence that lifted everyone’s energy without even trying. I’ll remember learning from Mary and June, our valedictorian and salutatorian with their intrepid souls always ready for kindness.

I leave this chapter with one great friend in Harry as he heads to Northwestern, while life takes others to places I never could have imagined, like Spencer Wang somehow ending up in Saudi Arabia wearing a Keffiyeh. The beauty of this place was always that it made the extraordinary feel ordinary.

Looking back, the hardest part is knowing there may never be another place quite like this. Not because of the buildings or traditions, but because of the people who filled these years with a kind of life I never knew I needed. As I step into the next chapter, I leave with one lesson: control the controllables.
