Nahda Project Turns 1! 🥳🌻🫂🍉🎈Thank you to everyone who joined us this past year as we brought together communities through our movement, art and culture ❤️

🧿 With your trust in us, we led multiple events centering SWANA culture: Sahreyye Open Mic, cultural dance collaborations, our ‘Songs of Resistance’ series, film screenings and much more!

❤️ We raised funds for mutual aid giving directly to our people on the ground.

📿 We performed Dabke across multiple stages, performing alongside incredible artists and showcasing our dance across campuses such as Boston University, Harvard, Bowdoin, etc! We taught Dabke to hundreds of people, from communities in Cambridge, to Boston’s Chinatown to Arab communities in Maine with a mission that our Dabke reaffirms our existence. Most importantly, we took back our streets with Dabke!

📚 We hosted weekly majalis, a beloved place to explore our culture, engage in political education and imagine a collective liberation. A space meant for critical debate and engaging conversation.

We are grateful for all that we have accomplished together, grateful for the leadership team filled with so much compassion, integrity and intention. Grateful for the members of this community who continue to show up with so much heart and soul 🫶🏼

🎈 We can’t wait to welcome you all to a new season with LOTS of exciting connections to bring communities together!

Stay tuned!

In solidarity & joyful resistance,
Nahda Project

🪩🌻💃🏽A wonderful birthday week filled with so much love, dance and community. Eternally grateful for each and every one of you, and that I could start my 27th year dancing under the disco ball with all of you 🎉📿Thank you for making 27 already so, so special. ❤️

Grateful for 26— a year of labor, love and resilience. TLDR; danced a lot. fundraised for mutual aid. spread our heritage through cultural events, dabke and vintage prints. laughed so hard with wonderful friends and family. organized with brilliant comrades. And always, always, uplifted my homeland and my people on the ground.

Keep on dancing, and being around loved ones. let’s build a world that is free, just and healthy for all <3 Lots of love always ❤️
