Our social media elf heard you wanted to know how to pronounce some things in Irish!

Well, what better place to start than the names of the 4 Celtic seasonal festivals! Imbolc, Beltaine, Lughnasadh and Samhain!

Each festival kicks off the start of each of the 4 seasons and the Irish language can be tough if you're not used to it! So let us help you get those pronunciations JUST right ✨

Do yous believe in mermaaaaaids? I doooo!🧜‍♀️

Welcome to Myth of the Month, a video series where we take a little dive into a piece of Celtic mythology. This month we’re talking about the merrow. Merrows are the Celtic equivalent of merfolk and have been referenced in popular culture — all the way from Dungeons & Dragons to Magic: the Gathering (Merrow 5e and the Lorwyn Merrow respectively).

But just what is it about the stories of merrows that are so interesting? Well, there is a widespread and deeply rooted correlation between stories of merfolk and how they interacted with humans. These were typically about luring us (trickable) humans into the sea or, conversely, merfolk pursuing love even if it’s on land!

Tell us your favorite “mer-story” in the comments. Have you found any other cool correlations between tales?

I’ve been feeling inspired, full of wonder, and filled with creative joy lately. Most importantly, I feel blessed to be part of a story with so many amazing storytellers.

Huge thanks again to @ddubhda and @d8dungeon for the opportunity to collaborate on this story. I'm looking forward to the adventures to come with all the Emberlight Guild members!

Special mention to @tallnerdapollo and @d.n.d.rew who weren’t able to join us on the live.

I can’t wait for all of you to meet Dax 510.

I don't have everyone socials to tag here but I'll add all the wonderful cast.

What did you think of Dax’s choice last night? Abstaining from such an important vote is a bold move... what do you think he's planning?
