Nothing beats a holiday weekend kickoff with the best people, a killer city view, and staying up way too late like we’re 20 again. Watching Kim dance like nobody’s watching was the highlight of the night!

Maddox’s internship in Delaware wrapped up yesterday, and he was blessed with the opportunity to preach to end his time there. So thankful his fiancée was there to capture these moments!

A huge thank you to @thecrossingde for loving our son like your own and investing so deeply in him as a person and as a follower of Jesus. We are incredibly grateful for your church family.

Now we get to cherish having him home for a couple of weeks before moving him back for his junior year of college. Time really is a thief! 📷 @hannah.arkins

You can’t beat a great concert in the middle of the week on a perfect Indiana summer night. @KingsKaleidoscope was awesome, discovering @iamhollyn was a bonus, and hearing my favorite song live? Unreal. Plus, I had the best date. What a night!

NYC…SF…MX…IND…doesn’t matter where we go, those places are only special because I’m with you.

26 years later, and that’s still the truth.

Happy anniversary, Lisa. Love you ❤️

Yesterday I did something I’ve wanted to do for a long time, but never fully committed to.

So I finally did it. I signed up for a half marathon with less than a month to train. No perfect plan, no ideal timeline… just a decision. I was tired of saying “someday” and figured I’m crazy enough to give it a shot.

Somewhere along the way, I fell in love with the process. The early runs, the discipline, the mental battle, it all started to mean something more. And then the question hit me: Could I, at 48, someone who’s always been active but never run a half marathon…go sub-2 hours?

Race day came. Halfway through, my Achilles started barking. That old voice could’ve easily taken over, but this time, I chose differently. I leaned in. I kept going.

And I beat my goal.

What I’m learning in this season of life is simple, but not easy: face the hard things. Don’t avoid them. Trust the process. Keep moving forward, even when it hurts.

Grateful for the friends who encouraged me along the way, and especially for Lisa, who continues to be the most inspiring and supportive partner I could ask for.

This one meant a lot.

E.E. Cummings wrote, ‘It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.’ Maddox, as you start this new decade, my prayer for you is that you find that courage not just in yourself, but in the knowledge that God has a specific, purposeful design for your life. May you walk boldly into the man He created you to be.

February. Left my heart in San Francisco…found it again in NYC. Every place is always my favorite when I’m with her.

Happy birthday, baby. Of all the things we get to see on our trips, you’re still my favorite thing to look at. I love you!
