Dogs in L.A. shelters aren't doing well. Many exhibit "high FAS" (Fear, Anxiety, Stress), which is increasingly being used as a pretext for killing. Our boy Ronald (now Stryker) spun in his kennel, and we pulled him the day before his scheduled euthanasia. He's now in training with K-9 Protectors learning protection and detection skills. Junior, a 1-year-old puppy at West Valley, has begun spinning too. He has been placed in his own kennel, despite being paired up with various dogs with no issue since his arrival in February. We've been privileged to get to know Junior: he joined us at two adoption events. He is a quiet and soulful shep, no drama with other dogs. Just hangs out and smiles. You can imagine how heartbreaking it is to bring him back to the shelter after a day out. 😢 Please share Junior (right) with your shep-loving friends.
