Well, it’s been just over a year since we got started on the Chronicles of K9 Riddick. What a way to wrap that up by attending the @atk9usa in Indiana.

From early morning sessions to classes to after hours shenanigans, Riddick and I put in 10-14 hours a day across all disciplines.

A huge shoutout to @spikesk9fund and @heroes.withpaws . If it wasn’t for these two organizations this opportunity would not have been possible and words can’t express how grateful I am.

If you spend a week with the following instructors and can’t get better as a handler/trainer or take stuff back to your unit, then you probably shouldn’t be in K9. Thank you to you all:

Got to spend the week with my K9 academy mate/fellow prankster/rival ❤️ @mediocrek9handler 💪 We did about 8 miles of tracking and thanks to ol Hondo I got to have several life flashing before my eyes moments in the bite suit 😂 here’s to next year 🍻

Building young police dogs.

The covered sleeve/suit picture is just one very necessary component in creating true “street readiness” for a dual purpose K9.

Here I am with my buddy and training partner, Shannon Krieger, Shannon and I traveled to Indiana for the American Working Dog Olympics, and goodbye festival for our great friend, Ken Licklider! Ken did so much for Law Enforcement and US Army special operations as Shannon and I both will attest to. We saw quite a few friends, and that was great, but I also marvel at the people who did not show up, some even attended a competing event. I’ve come to learn over the years, many people are not loyal, and they quickly forget who brought them to the dance. For those of you who were there, it was so good to see you, and it brought back so many good memories. It was awesome hanging out with Sonja Nordstrom of FBI fame, Bryan Mowry from the United States Secret Service, and so many other pillars of the working dog world! So much fun and so great to see all of you again. #getmanshepherd #policek9 #k9#workingdogmagazine

Here I am at the airport in Raleigh North Carolina, having a cocktail with the godfather of special operations K9, Shannon Krieger! Shannon and I are heading out to Indiana, to spend time with our wonderful pal Ken Licklider ! The world of special operations canine would be radically different if it were not for Ken and Shannon! Ken is hosting his final American working Dogs K9 Olympics in Indiana this week. End of an Era, but the canine world would be radically different without these two guys, many people attempt to monetize and claim credit for SPECOPS CANINEk9. But the one’s who actually did it were Ken, Mike Reaver @ Adlerhorst, Jim Hagerty @Naval Special Warfare and Shannon!! The rest can pound sand!#policedogs #k9copmagazine
