🎈 HOST your next kids birthday party at the new Kids City at Ala Moana! 🎈

Honolulu families, our favorite indoor playground finally reopened in its new location at Ala Moana Center, and the timing was perfect for Gemma’s 5th birthday 🤍

📍 Getting there: There’s lots of parking and it’s easy to find. Park at Target level 2 and head downstairs, or enter through the mall by the Target entrance.

🎂 The party: After check-in, you’ll head to your private party room, then out to play! They offer add-ons like décor and a party host. We had @pizzamamo delivered on Uber Eats 🍕 and brought our own drinks, cake, cupcakes, and fresh cut veggies.

🛝 The space: It’s perfectly mapped out from check-in to the lockers, multiple play areas, a zipline, trampolines, ball pits, slides, a café, restrooms, and handwashing stations.

Our keiki, ages 7 months to 11 years, had the BEST time, and so did the grown-ups 😅 Sound on for the giggles 🔊

Being the Golf Tournament Coordinator for the Leigh Kaimanaola Foundation, and serving on this board, is one of the greatest honors of my life. This foundation carries my daughter Leigh’s name and her spirit into the world — and every year, watching our community show up for another child and family reminds me why this work matters so deeply.

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as I worked through every little detail. I promise I took notes, and we’ll make Year 5 even better 😊

I’m so thankful for the welcome ceremony, being able to see everyone out on the course throughout the day, and ending the night with a bang — entertainment and prizes we won’t forget. I could not have done this without the rest of the board, our 2026 committee, and the many volunteers and vendors who gave their time and hearts to this day.

Mahalo for being part of this season with us. Here’s to another year in the books, and to continuing to keep moving forward — together.

Our Warriors were Hot Like Fire at this years @honua.finals 🔥💙🤍

Thank you to everyone at Honua Finals, especially @sunny.kazama and the Kazama ‘Ohana for another amazing year!! The waves were pumping, vibes were high, and everyone was ripping 🌊

Congratulations to the Surf Team, so proud of each of our surfers who competed. Rylee Pang, a sophomore, placing 4th in Boys Bodyboard. Kailana Tong-Matthews, a junior, winning Girls Bodyboard for the second year in a row! Joie Kaiu, a 2026 graduate, placing 2nd for Girls Longboard. And finally, Puaiohi DeFries, another 2026 graduate, winning Girls Longboard for the 3rd time in a row at the 3rd annual Honua Finals 🙌🏾🥇

To our graduated seniors, thank you for being a part of this team the past 4 years. Can’t wait to see what you all will accomplish in the upcoming years. Here’s to an amazing 2026 season! Excited for the next one #imua

Surfing firing waves at Ala Moana Bowls during the @honua.finals with just three other competitors was an unforgettable experience. Congratulations to you all! Reflecting on my journey, from placing third at states as a freshman to being the only freshman in the finals today and finishing fourth, fills my heart with pride. While I may not have achieved the results I hoped for, the journey itself has been a tremendous accomplishment, and I am incredibly grateful for every moment. A huge shoutout to @ars_analu for claiming the victory this year! I’m so stoked for you and feel honored to have shared the water with you over the years. Congratulations also to @_parkerchurchill and @felix_da_cattt for your amazing performances in the final! Your talent and dedication inspire me to push my limits and elevate my game.

I also want to extend my heartfelt congratulations to my coaches and teammates from Kamehameha for making this surf season one to remember. Starting out was challenging, and adjusting to a new team felt daunting, but you all welcomed me with open arms and treated me like family. I’ve cherished every moment we shared, and I will miss all of you!

Camp Miloliʻi Summer 2026

Special family ʻāina we are so lucky to experience.

Every year looks a little different. We used to bring our older kids here as babies, and now they’re big kids enjoying their favorite hobbies, helping the little ones, exploring, and making memories they’ll never forget.

We’re so thankful for this crew. Camping this way takes a lot of work, especially with half of us traveling from other islands. Without running water or electricity, every family showed up. Gathering and hauling down all the gear, water, food, and supplies to live outside for a few days. Building a makeshift kitchen, cooking incredible meals, setting up shower and dishwashing stations, keeping the kids safe, and making it all work together.

What made this trip so special wasn’t just the place—it was the people. The adults created unforgettable experiences for all of our keiki, and the kids did so well together. They looked out for one another, played from sunrise to sunset, and were surrounded by the best group of aunties and uncles we could ask for.

This trip works because everyone contributes.

Camping on our family’s land under the coconut trees is something we never take for granted. Morning coffee by the ocean, back floating in the bay, watching people from the village clean fish then the puhi gather for the scraps, kayaking to the freshwater spring, hiking to the black sand beach, eating fresh-caught fish, jumping from the Miloliʻi pier, reading while listening to the waves and the kids laughing, salty hair, sandy feet, and the kind of conversations that only happen when everyone slows down.

To this exact group—mahalo. We couldn’t do it without each of you.

July 4, 2026 | Honomalino Bay
The most perfect day with our hui.

We’ve been hiking into Honomalino Bay for years. First, it was babies in carriers. Then it was new babies in carriers while toddlers made the hike one little step at a time. Now those toddlers are the big kids, carrying their own backpacks and fishing poles, helping the little ones along the way.

The hike somehow gets easier every year—not because the trail has changed, but because our family has.

Honomalino Bay is one of those places that feels untouched. A secluded salt-and-pepper beach tucked along the South Kona coast, reached only by a hike through lava fields and shaded jungle. The reward is crystal-clear water, black sand, swaying palms, and if you’re lucky, dolphins passing offshore.

Every year we come back, the kids are a little bigger, a little stronger, and a little more adventurous. It’s one of those traditions that reminds us just how quickly time passes.

Grateful for our hui, this beautiful place, and another year of making memories together. Please help keep places like Honomalino beautiful by packing out what you pack in and treating this special place with care.

We may not celebrate Independence Day, but we do spend Fourth of July weekend on Hawaiian land.

This is how we spent the Fourth:
salt water, sunshine, barefoot kids, wall jumps, fishing, camping, and time with people we love.

Grateful for the land beneath our feet and the memories our children are making on it.
