উড়ুক্কু কাজ করে পুনঃব্যবহার নিয়ে। তাদের এই কর্মশালা হবে দৈনন্দিন জীবনে ফেলে দেওয়া বিভিন্ন উপকরণগুলিকে কিভাবে পুনঃব্যবহার অথবা আপ্সাইকেল করতে পারি সে সম্পর্কে জ্ঞ্যান বিনিময় এবং নতুন উপায় খুঁজে বের করা নিয়ে। পুরনো বা ফেলনা কিছু থেকে নতুন কিছু তৈরি করার বিভিন্ন উপায় ও পদ্ধতি খুঁজে বের করাই এই কর্মশালার লক্ষ্য ।
কি আনতে হবে : অবশ্যই নিজেকে, আর সাথে বাসা থেকে এমন কিছু জিনিস (এক বা একের বেশি ) যা আপনি পুনঃব্যবহার করতে চান কিংবা কাজে লাগাতে চান ( যেমন কানের দুল, ভাঙ্গা কিছু, ফেলে দেয়া বোতল,পুরনো নিউজপেপার বা ব্যাগ ইত্যাদি। )

Urukku works with recycling and upcycling everyday materials into something with new commodities. This is a workshop to exchange knowledge on how we can recycle, reuse and upcycle the materials we throw away on a daily basis, finding out ways to recreate something new from something old.

Bring Yourself, and also anything you want to recycle or reuse or upcycle. (example: earrings, newspapers, old bags, old bottles etc)

Workshop will be on the 9th and 10th February.
Day.1 : 09.02.2024 (2.00 pm -6.00 pm )
Day.2: 10.02.2024 (03.00 pm- 0.6.00 pm )

কালী কালেক্টিভ ও উড়ুক্কুর পক্ষ থেকে, কালীর ছাদে তিন দিনের আয়োজনে আপনাদের আমন্ত্রণ জানাচ্ছি।

৯ ফেব্রুয়ারি থেকে ১১ ফেব্রুয়ারি পর্যন্ত নানান কার্যকলাপে সাজানো হয়েছে কালীর ছাদ। কর্মশালা, ট্যাটু ও থেরাপিউটিক মিউজিক সেশনগুলোতে নিবন্ধন করতে হবে। কর্মশালা, সেশন সংক্রান্ত তথ্য, নিবন্ধন প্রক্রিয়া পরবর্তী পোস্টগুলোতে দেয়া হবে। চলচ্চিত্র প্রদর্শনীতে নিবন্ধন করতে হবে না।

তাছাড়া তিন দিন-ই বিকেল ৪টা থেকে রাত ৮টা পর্যন্ত বিভিন্ন শিল্পীদের তৈরি ছবির প্রিন্ট, বই, ছাপচিত্র, ব্যাগ ইত্যাদি এবং গাছের চারা বিক্রি হবে ছাদে।

Kaali Collective and Urukku.Bangladesh are inviting you all on a three day long event on Mindfulness.
From 9th February to 11th February, there will be some workshops and arrangements designed by us.
There will be workshops on recycling, pottery, yoga sessions, meditation sessions, tattoing, music session, film screening and always a cup of tea to greet you.

The link to register on workshops and other sessions will be posted soon.&from 4 to 6pm,there will be artworks by diff artists exhibitted for sale.

আপনাদের আমন্ত্রণ জানাচ্ছি ‘লবণ চা’- রেজোয়ানা চৌধুরী জিনিয়ার প্রথম একক আলোকচিত্র প্রদর্শনীতে। আলোকচিত্রী জিনিয়া কালী কালেক্টিভের প্রতিষ্ঠাতা সদস্যদের একজন। ‘লবণ চা’- চা বাগানের, চা শ্রমিকদের যাপিত জীবন ও দীর্ঘদিনের জমে থাকা আঘাতের কথা বলে, যা চা শিল্পের বিলাসী মোড়ক আর সুগন্ধে সবসময়েই ঢাকা পড়ে।

প্রদর্শনীর উদ্বোধন হবে ১৯ অক্টোবর ২০২৩, বৃহস্পতিবার, বিকেল ৪;৩০ মিনিটে, স্থান-খাদিম চা বাগান, বুরজান চা কারখানা, খাদিমনগর, পূজা মন্ডপ, সিলেট।

We are very excited to call for applications for the South Asia Incubator program from emerging and mid-career lens based practitioners from Nepal, Sri Lanka, Myanmar, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Maldives, Bhutan and India.

The South Asia Incubator program is designed to create a platform for emerging and mid-career visual practitioners from across South Asia to engage with mentors and institutions from around the world who research, exhibit, publish, and support lens based practices.

PhotoKTM invites 10 participants to spend time with a group of mentors for 5 days from 25 Feb – 1 March 2023 in Kathmandu. Mentors will be representing their respective institutions, and will spend time with participants to learn more about their work, the socio- economic, political, and cultural contexts in which they work, offer general mentorship on how to grow their practices, approach grants, exhibitions, residencies and navigate professional ecosystems. The goal will be to hopefully ideate and develop further collaborations in 2023-2024.

The incubator is designed for emerging and mid-career practitioners with minimum 5 years of experience. Participants should be of South Asian origin, living and working in South Asia.

Ishara Art Foundation in partnership with Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts is pleased to announce the opening of ‘Growing Like A Tree: Sent A Letter’, a curatorial debut by Bunu Dhungana and Sadia Marium Rupa.

Marking the third iteration of the exhibition initially curated by artist Sohrab Hura at the Ishara Art Foundation in Dubai in 2021, the show expands on Hura’s collective journeys with practitioners across geographic borders.

The title draws from Dayanita Singh’s work ‘Sent A Letter’ (2007) that was exhibited as a citation in the first iteration of the show. Expanding on the idea that an unopened photo-book can enfold within it diaries, exhibitions and correspondences, ‘Growing Like A Tree: Sent A Letter’ returns to this source to evoke the tactile act of composing letters. It gathers images and sounds as dispatches from artistic journeys across different contexts, highlighting the shared moments of nurture, decay, desire, pollination and memory-making.

Bringing together new and previously presented works, the curation pushes the boundaries of contemporary image-making as modes of address that offer a changing map of interconnected practices.

The ensemble of artists and collectives in the exhibition includes Aishwarya Arumbakkam, Vinita Barretto, Uma Bista, Dolly Devi, Shaheen Dill-Riaz, Pooja Gurung & Bibhusan Basnet, Alana Hunt, Ipshita Maitra, Farah Mulla, Nida Mehboob, Jaisingh Nageswaran, Ali Monis Naqvi, Gaurang Naik, Sarker Protick, Sathish Kumar, The Packet, Priyadarshini Ravichandran, Rajee Samarasinghe, Suneil Sanzgiri, Sylvia Schedelbauer, Prasiit Sthapit, Maryam Tafakory, Avani Tanya and Zainab, along with a citation of @dayanitasingh ‘Sent A Letter’. With site-specific notations by Sohrab Hura, his role as a curator tunes out with the third iteration inviting new curatorial voices that proliferate the growing of the tree into a forest.

Exhibition Opening: at Sunaparanta Goa Centre for the Arts on 14 December 2022, 6pm onwards. The exhibition will remain open to public until 15 May 2023.

Coming to you this 17th June! 🤘🏻💥

‘K Rap’ is one of tracks from the Ta Dhom Project album, which features two young rappers, @mc_dehaati and @mc_khoj of @kaali_collective . The track also features, Ashwin Srinivasan (@ashwinflute ), flautist par excellance, and a long time friend of Viveick. Both Dehaati and Khoj have been learning Konnakol from Viveick for the last three years and this track was born out of the many sessions that they have had, over the years.
Ta Dhom Project being multi lingual ,now for the first time has Dehaati rapping in Bhojpuri and doing Konnakol. Rap is a lot about exploring new flows and this is one such experiment. The three verses in this track end with the same line but with different spacing (called ‘Karvai’ in Carnatic music) each time.
Konnakol merges with Rap in this track seamlessly. By now you know why its called K Rap.

Tune into ‘Collective Consciousness’, a star-studded panel taking place on Jan 7 at 5PM IST, as part of ‘Staging the Contemporary: The Next Generation’ — #IndiaArtFair's online symposium, in partnership with @IsharaArtFoundation and supported by @ShivNadarUniv.

We are so thrilled to have four incredible collectives from across South Asia participating in this panel, exploring their origin stories and how they each work:

🟩 Anga Collective (@angaartcollective), a group based in #Assam working with village communities, academics and activists

🟦 Her Pixel Story (@herpixelstory), a photo collective based in #Kashmir aimed to create an interactive platform for women and non-binary photographers in Kashmir
