In September it will have been 3 years of Virgo ♍ but today has been feeling reflective! ✨ This is a HIGHLIGHTS post of the past couple and a bit years 😍

Photo #1: Virgo Events started on the 3rd September 2022 at Ocean Arts Centre in Splott, ran by the lovely Sally and assisted by Beth on all the early Music & Poetry Evenings ✨🎶 Super grateful for that beautiful grassroots space to host Open Mics for friends & connections.

Photo #2: My favourite Music & Poetry Evening was #10. There was something about that audience. It was held at the brilliant @littlemancoffee in Cardiff, and in spite of the sound system not working, it had such a special spirit! There were so many diverse and high quality performances that evening 🤩

Photo #3: I moved back to my hometown of Oxford in February of 2023 but I was still attached to Cardiff that had become my home 🏠 💖 but we still had some room fillers thanks to the talents that are @daniel_maani & @markusreyhani !! 🤩 These were very special community events.

Photo #4: Being back in Oxford I got back into writing lyrics and I got to work with some fantastically talented Oxfordshire musicians to bring the songs to life. Thank you so much to @sanitycube , @noahstonedrums , @jake_jlyons and the lovely Esther. 💙 Namely the project was Persia:Bloom 🌺 We played at @thelibrarypub on Cowley Road supporting You Talk Too Much!

Photo #5: This brings me on to my favourite gig with @yt2much at the @artsattheofs ✨ 🚒 Gorgeous setting, gorgeous vibes, and a beautiful audience. 😊 Thank you to the lovely ladies who helped us on the day! 🙏🏽

Photo #6: @rhostio_coffee is another very special venue in Cardiff which has revolutionised the music scene and social energy in the Welsh Capital! 👀 Held 3 key events here!

Photo #7: KINGKHAN headline was one of those said events at Rhostio! @kingkhanmusic is a very humble, talented, and lovely human!!! Support from equally lovely and humble and talented humans @thaimesplace and @beyblis and @a.crash.course ✨

Photo #8: Some super young talent from Oxfordshire called The Merry Men! Super established and mature sound if you like your indie rock. @carysmj_73 @thomas_chorley_artist @jack_summ

I ended up making the first highlight post way too long! 🤣

Photo #1: The ♍ CAKES! I ensured to make it tradition to celebrate the Virgo anniversaries with the creamiest cakes thanks to @caitlin_verallo 🤗 to share with the attendees of VE !

Photo #2: Have to thank all the photographers and videographers who have collaborated at various events, either once, twice, or MULTIPLE times (looking at you @bysiriaferrer 😉) You are all BRILLIANT 💗

Photo #3: All the performers, all the people from Virgo Sessions, or who has collaborated with Virgo over the years! Thank youuuuu 🤩

Photo #4: All the fabulous venues in Cardiff and Oxford!

Excited to collaborate with more people, more venues, and more spaces in Oxford in 2025 before and after the 3rd year of Virgo Events 🥰

Love,

Virgo xo

And just like that, it's been five years of living in the UK. The date actually passed me by, but I've been reflecting about my time here a lot this month. What I'm left with is immense gratitude for all the people I've met – regardless of whether we speak everyday, sporadically, or if we've lost touch, I'm so, so, thankful that you've been a part of my journey. Thank you for being my chosen family. Biggest thank you to @kavita8989 for being in my corner, and without whom I'd have been a puddle from the moment I landed ♥️

Enjoy a very uncurated carousel of pictures – there's thousands and thousands of them.

Beautiful audience thank you SO much for coming and supporting another ♍ event! ✨

So blessed to be building community around grassroots music and poetry and providing a safe space for creative people of all levels to get up and perform.

Thank you all so much for attending and forgiving me for my questionable MC skills 😂
