What a crazy year it’s been! The worst year of my life and yet I was still blessed with so much beauty and privilege. I look back and see the heartache, the hospital visits, the sickness (and near death), the stress of school/ work, the loss of my creative spark, the resentment of being used and discarded, the humiliation of having my of my boundaries and body repeatedly disrespected in the name of “love”, the despair of seeing the planet and my fellow humans suffer, blah blah blah etc…and yet this year has been so full of joys. I made and maintained relationships with my three best friends in the world- a soul deep connection. I made art and gifted it to my loved ones. I traveled and made connections (however brief) that changed my perspective on life. I danced, I sang, I ran, I loved unabashedly, I embraced my friends, I sat with Mother Nature. I looked up at the sky, heart soaring, and said “THIS is what life is all about” countless times. This year has shown me that despite pain and hardship, I have a gift to always find the light and gratitude in the smallest of moments: a cup of cacao, the wind in my hair, the moon on a clear night. That healing comes from community, from kindness, and from breaking down stigmatized beliefs and egos. Despite the difficulties, I know that fire tempers metal and I am coming out on the other side stronger. And that that same fire has burned away the things not meant for me - trusting the process is the only way forward and God takes care of the rest. So much thanks to my mama, Iz, Yente, Anthony and to myself for carrying me so far. Every day is a blessing.

Anyways, Iz and I spent the night going over our 2025 and manifesting our 2026 via zine vision boards. Also pictured are a few of my favorite memories from this year💕

What a magical day!! 1 year of Bad Writers and we couldn’t be happier to have shared it with all of you. It’s been such a pleasure to witness the growth of this community over the last year. We never imagined it’d become what it is today! We’re proud, yes, but also in awe of how incredible you all are. It’s because of each of you that Bad Writers is as fun as it is. Thank you, thank you, thank you for making it so special. Cheers to many more years! 🥂💛☕️✍🏽

A special thank you to @book_and_bottle for being the space where it all started and for allowing us to celebrate there today; to @how_arth_thou for being the Godfather of Bad Writers and providing constant laughs and an amazing selection of writing books; and to @alyssa_harmon_ for being the best partner in crime a girl could ask for… so happy we did the thing!! 👯‍♀️

We may need to rename ourselves the “Bad Writers Social Club” 😂 There’s been so many new faces lately that we’ve been spending more time getting to know each other than writing. No complaints here, though. We love this budding community of writers and we’re so grateful to each of you who choose to spend your Saturday mornings with us 💛 We love how this community has grown and we can’t wait to keep writing with you and creating new friendships!

Thank you to @thebrothersthomascafe for the lovely space, awesome coffee, and kind vibes!

We love our sweet budding writing community! Every meetup is unique, and today the vibe flowed towards connecting and sharing our stories verbally with each other. Putting pen to paper isn’t the only way to create… We’re here for all of the ways in which we can inspire and support each other, not just our writing 💛

A big thank you to @halelifebakery for hosting us today!

See you all next week 🤗
