Some of you may already know that our Portland Street has a champion amongst the team 👀

Josh took part in the London Latte Art Smackdown 26 at Kaffeine a few weeks ago and only went and won it! 💫

If you have had one of his coffees, you will know that they are exceptional!

Josh said, “The first round is always the most nerve-racking for me. It’s a solid heart round, so a small mistake will ruin the symmetry. I’m pretty confident in my tulip and rosettas, so I felt very calm after getting through the heart round.”

He smashed it out of the park and even got a handshake from James Hoffman 🤝

Get yourself down to Portland Street to see the magician at work ☕️

My London food diary

@ugly.dumpling.uk 🥟
Coming from dumpling country, my standards are high!
They serve Asian-inspired dumplings with a wide variety of fillings. A little overpriced IMO, but definitely tasty! The menu is vegan- and vegetarian-friendly, with gluten-free options available too.
Dumplings with halloumi & courgette, Vegan spring roll, Curry paneer

A specialty coffee spot inspired by Australiancoffee culture. Naturally, I had to try their flat whitewith oat milk! It was good, but not outstanding. The service felt a little rushed, which took awayfrom the overall experience.

Finally got to try the viral banana pudding! Andhonestly, it was a pretty great treat after a long day ofwalking. I went for the classic version with strawberriesand salted pretzels — a nice mix of sweet and salty!

A restaurant chain with multiple locations and a variedmenu. I chose Bao City because they had vegetarian options. Unfortunately, the food didn’t quite live up to my expectations. The sides were too salty, the noodles were sticky, and the bao arrived cold.
However, my meat-eating husband was very happy with his meal!

Smacked chilli cucumber. Soy glazed aubergine with tempura. Daikon croquette bao.
Tofu ‘Dan Dan’ noodles.

I wanted to eat here so badly, and the food did not disappoint! We were lucky with the weather so could enjoy our dinner at the terrace. The portions, especially cauliflower which is served as main course, could be a bit bigger. Attentive and welcome service.

Naan. Courgette and feta croquettes. Zaaluk. Grilled halloumi. Chilli cauliflower.

We LOVED the Kaffeine Latte Art Finals on Friday!! So many phenomenal competitors, some fantastic pours and barely any spillages all night long! It’s always an honour to see so many exceptional baristas pouring perfection at one of the finest institutions of specialty coffee in the world. Thankyou so much to Peter and his incredible team for an amazing evening and congratulations to the new champion @wuwucoffee !!
Always a joy to sponsor this great, great competition 🙏
