It’s always an honor to join @kafsc_ny for their annual Silent March Against Domestic Violence.

@kafsc_ny and this march have stood with survivors in demanding an end to gender based violence. I’m proud that our @nyccouncil has dedicated funding to ensuring that services for survivors of gender-based violence are accessible in all languages.

Together we will break the silence and stop the violence.

The work of public service cannot be done in silos or behind closed doors. It must be done in full view alongside the very public we aim to serve.

That's what my office's East Flushing Town Hall last night was all about, as we build bonds between neighbors and city agencies.

Thank you to @qplnyc for hosting us at the East Flushing branch. Thank you to all our agency partners for giving your updates and your contact info. And thank you to the residents of North Queens who came out to make their voices heard.

You are who we're here to serve.

Domestic violence affects far too many families in our community, yet barriers often prevent survivors from seeking help. Events like the @gardenofhopeny 3rd Annual Family Harmony and Community Safety Fair last week provide valuable resources and information for people who feel like they have nowhere to turn. Thank you to GOH and all of the co-sponsors for the work they do on behalf of the well-being of our community!
